So your stereotype of what a Buick is would make you pass up a good vehicle for something that may not be as good?

No.

Thanks everyone! I looked at the Enclaves and they are having big discounts right now $6500 off msrp. So I'll have to weigh my options

I don't get the Mazdas.

First, the reliability is shite. Second, they're probably the worst looking SUV/crossover out there. I'd drive a pink Ford Escape before I'd drive that hideous Mazda.

They have huge engine and transmission issues. It's the perfect vehicle for someone who does no research.

Consumer reports best three row SUV:

Buick Enclave Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia (GM Clones)

Acura MDX Tech

Hyundai Santa Fe GLS (V6)

Infiniti QX60 (JX, 3.5)

Mazda CX-9

If you can handle the money the Acura or Infiniti is the best choice if you intend to keep the vehicle for more than 3 years and 50K miles. You will thank me later

We have a 2013 Honda Pilot ... love it except for the damn squeak in the steering column that they can't seem to ever hear.

One thing that hasn't been mentioned about driving an Enclave is that, well...you'd be driving a Buick.

A Buick.

I thought the same thing until I saw my dad's. It was waaaaaay better than what I expected.

Been considering a Venza or Crosstour. Anyone have experience with either? I could get away with a sedan, but need a hatchback for the dog.

I drove two Avalanches (a '05 for 150k and then a '08 for 205k) until last month when I got into a '14 Grand Cherokee. The Chevys never left me stranded over 8 years and I averaged 19+ mpg. I'd have bought another but 2013 was the last year and I'm the boss at work so I wanted to display some austerity as to fuel. Other than not being able to haul something like sheetrock (which I did exactly three times over eight years) the five passenger Jeep is wonderful. I'm averaging over 25 mpg with the V-6 over the first 2,000 miles. I hate front wheel drive, the driving dynamics of the RWD GC are wonderful. AWD would be even better. Go on Acadia forums and see what new and longer-term owners are saying about them. If more than five passengers are a must, Tahoe is my choice. Good luck.
