It'll be wet Tuesday as the front will have just came through.

Wednesday and Thursday will be great. Both Euro and GFS (main forecast models) have all of the northshore and really all but basically south of 90 not getting above 50 either day with lows in the high 20s. It'll be a little breezy Wednesday at least. With the slug of dry air that comes with this kind of strong cold front, it'll be nice and clear.

Temps running a good 20 degrees below normal both days. Hell of a cold front for this time of year.

On the wintery precip front, deep dry cold air chasing the precip isn't a scenario that favors it.

north LA got snow early last November

Yeah, I got some wintery mix in the Eunice area.

Hope this isn't a sign of the same winter as last year. Cold early then 80s the rest of the season.

Possible with this system. I'd think north of Alexandria might get a window for some frozen stuff to fall and quickly melt.

I'm leaning toward the idea of a similar winter to last year for most of the country. The east has been running a little warmer than normal for the better part of the last year+, and the big picture patterns look to be similar. Seasonal forecasting is a lot of guesswork though, so your guess is probably about as good as mine.

I know what I need for hurricanes, but for a sleet event I'm a bit lost. How many loaves of bread will I need to buy for this?

The average hi/lo range historically for today is 75/51. I can't recall it ever getting this cold so early.

We struggled to get out of the 30s one day last November. It was pretty damn early as well.

Edit:
Wow! ...nearly the same exact setup. This one is just colder on the low temps.
This was LAST November:
13th High 48 Low 37
14th High 40 Low 33
15th High 54 Low 30

Makes sense since the pattern looks really similar to last year. Wouldn't mind that too much, would yield some good skiing out west.

NWS has 29 for BR.

I think that's going to be a degree or two high and we probably get our first hard freeze as our first real freeze.

Tuesday is going to be bitter though. Cloudy. Windy. LIX discussion alludes to the wind chill not getting much above 30 that day.

Not sure just how cold it gets, but no, one hell of a cold snap is coming. Modeling has been on this idea of days. It's a big feature driving it and a hell of an anomaly. These sorts of things pretty much always confirm.

Yeah that blows. I look forward to our 4-5 months of cool weather all year long.

I wouldn't call it a shite model. Is it the most accurate? Nope, but it's one of the more reliable ones to look at. The most reliable one, the EURO, is also showing a very cold rain falling over BR while temperatures drop into the 30s through noon, then briefly warming into the low 40's until around 4:00pm then dropping fast again.

There's decent consistency for a hell of a cold snap along with some rain. Sleet isn't really a big possibility anymore but a very cold, windy, and rainy day is definitely in store for us.
