Two fast-moving objects attempting to occupy the same space at the same time.

The F16 is equipped with TCAS (terrain collision avoidance system) but it will not recognize an aircraft that is not equipped with it.

There may be some type of low level training activity taking place in the area. Last week three F-16s came scorching through the Greenville area at very low level. Rattled windows and scared the shite out of a lot of people who get scared by military aircraft blasting by at much lower than typical altitudes. I know Greenville and Charleston are about 200 miles apart, but at 650 or 700 knots, that goes by pretty quick.

I've seen planes out of the window damn near under us and they were not on our radar. Asked the pilot and he said they didn't have something turned on....don't remember what that was.

Yes although JB Charleston is a C17 base we often have F16's from Shaw AFB in the area
