A Michigan man is seeking more than $86,000 from his parents in civil court for allegedly throwing out his large pornography collection.
quote:
The family rift began in October 2016 when the man moved back into his parents' Grand Haven, Michigan, home after a divorce. Among his possessions was a smut collection, he said in court documents, worth $29,000,
quote:
Less than a year later, the man moved to Indiana. When his parents delivered his property to his new home, the son alleges his massive collection was missing.
quote:
According to the documents, his parents told him they destroyed his porn.
quote:
The man tried to press charges on his parents by calling Ottawa County Sheriff's Office, but the prosecutor's office did not pursue the case
quote:
According to the lawsuit, the man began emailing his parents. "If you had a problem with my belongings, you should have stated that at the time and I would have gone elsewhere," the email allegedly read. "Instead, you choose to keep quiet and behave vindictively."
quote:LINK
his father responded: "Believe it or not, one reason for why I destroyed your porn was for your own mental and emotional health. ... I would have done the same if I had found a kilo of crack cocaine. Someday, I hope you will understand."

When I was 12, my dad found and threw out my $20 porn collection. Found it in his closet a month later.

No wonder he moved back in with his parents. Seems like he didn't make the best financial moves.

I don't know if it's necessarily the hill I would choose to die on (particularly if I wanted to ever have another relationship with a woman), but I think he at least has an argument. It was his porn. Dad's crack cocaine analogy falls on deaf ears. Crack is illegal and Dad could face criminal charges simply by just having it in his house (even though it belonged to his son). Possession of (adult) porn isn't illegal

This also happened to the Beastie Boys

Probably also explains the divorce. I can see a wife forgiving a couple mags, maybe even a couple dvds, but 29k worth?!?

The frick does $29k in porn look like?
Considering what is either free or cheap on the internet it tells me he either went looking for rare shite, illegal shite, or he had entire back catalogues of Playboy, Hustler, or Penthouse, at least one of which is illegal because of Traci Lords’ underage work.

An authenticated December 1953 Hugh Hefner autographed Playboy can be worth many thousands. One on eBay now for $35,000.
