Eaton County, Michigan — Body cam and surveillance video have been released by Eaton County Sheriff's Office, which show a Michigan deputy shooting a suspect who was accused of stabbing a man over a dispute about wearing a mask. Eaton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to assist the Michigan State Police in locating a male suspect who stabbed and caused serious injury to a person at the Quality Dairy store on Lansing Road in Windsor Township at 6:47 am, and had fled the scene in a vehicle. An area broadcast describing the suspect and vehicle was put out. At approximately 7:13 am an Eaton County Sheriff’s Office Deputy observed the suspect in Delta Township driving north on Jerryson Dr. and made a traffic stop. The footage shows the suspect, Sean Ruis age 43, holding a knife and screwdriver approaching the deputy, who repeatedly commands him to drop the weapon. When he fails to comply, the video shows her shooting several rounds before quickly clearing the jammed gun and firing again. Ruis eventually drops to the ground. Ruis was taken to the hospital and died during surgery. The involved Deputy, a 22-year veteran, has been placed on Administrative Leave.

Even better with the video:

GD! Was she firing blanks? Jesus...either that or she’s the worst shot ever. Damn!

ETA: Good job though by the cop. I’m just glad I wasn’t standing behind the guy.

I’d call that more than “approaching” the deputy as the article said.

Good example for all the “why’d they have to shoot him so many times” arguments. Assuming that the deputy’s first couple shots hit their mark from point blank range it still wasn’t enough to stop him.

This supports the philosophy of keep shooting until the threat is neutralized

He got protected and served.

If he was Black... "Why couldn't she just shoot him in the knee?!?!?!"

Looks like he was hit once or twice before making contact.

"wHy dO yOu nEeD mOrE tHaN 10 rOuNdS?"

"wHy dOnT tHeY jUsT sHoOt tHeM iN tHe lEg?" - idiots who never actually watch real world scenarios

now imagine instead of one guy, it was a group of 5 or 6. shooting people isnt like the movies, that was scary as shite and im impressed with her clearing the jam that quickly

that was straight suicide by cop, but im sure in Michigan they will find a way to turn this unjustified on the cop

What the hell was the driver doing and was the cop shooting a BB gun? None of that video makes sense. A .38 would have taken that guy down!

That was incredibly impressive to clear the jam that quick and while being attacked. I bet at least 7 out of 10 officers, in that exact situation, would have been fricked. Nice job.

Pretty impressive. He could have easily killed her

A minority not wearing a mask stabbing a guy, there will be a lot of conflicts of interest for the left to figure out over this one

Have the black lives matter people seen this yet? They'll be saying he only had a knife he didn't need to die

It'll be that too many shots were fired, but that's the most BS argument in the world. Once you are justified to shoot once, you are justified to shoot as many times as necessary. She would have had to go stand over him, after he quit moving and kept unloading, for it to be excessive.
