US outlets need a little bit of rotation here to make it newsworthy- like a violent crackdown or extended rioting. Neither looks likely to happen.

Cartels assassinated a popular mayor recently. He was one of the most militant anti cartel politicians. Killed him on broad daylight in front of his supporters.

One of the biggest concerns about her during the election was her softness on cartels, but she promised enough free shite to win over enough votes and Morena making Mexico a de facto one party state.
