It is their role if they are in jail. Are we just going to starve our prisoners to death? I think that might be cruel and unusual.

The question is why are the prisons not preparing the meals?

I like how it was pretty much publicly in cahoots with that boil and roux place on coursey wow the EBR COA is just an outright corrupt institution with a lengthy record of being such and its like they don't even care who knows

Everyone needs to contact their reps. This is fricking ridiculous.

The USDA says a moderate budget for food for a teen is $87 a week. That’s $12,500 to feed all 36 prisoners per month. The COA contract would get them 41,667 per month to feed the kids. That’s $12 a fricking meal.

USDA study for easy email reference. Insert it into the email.

I would suggest moving.

They won’t let you decide what you do with your taxes. Stop giving it to them.

Let br turn to Jackson.

Serious question how much of Louisianas retardation is avoided if people do this?

I ask now because under Landry I feel like more of our reps are going to feel like showing up to work

SO currently paying a 3rd party on avg $6900/month for these services, but council members want in on the grift so instead of it costing $75k-80k for FEB-DEC it will cost nearly half a million.

How has no one said anything about the people who own Boil and Roux? That should tell you everything you need to know about this.
“One” of the Boil and Roux owners is crooked as hell. Hasn’t he been in jail for shady shite like money laundering and fraud? That place is fricking terrible btw.

And yet the COA is asking for six times more than them to perform what appears to be the same task.

Honest question what do the salaries look like for the members of the COA and how much f the 480k will be used to cover gaps there or new raises to help balance the books?

Lucrative government contracts are the recipe for re election for failed incumbent leadership seeking another term.

The fact that this is coming to light a few days after the announcement that she will seek a third term is no coincidence.

This smells like a race war in the city parish government. Dare I say this is the mayor president's attempt at appropriating "reparations" to the owner of this foodservice establishment (also "catering" outfit), for perceived "unfair" treatment from Metro Council Amoroso and the ABC board.

Something something restaurant sucks and is filthy
Something something restaurant gets on "restaurant impossible"
Something something BLM
Something something many complaints for ruckus and noise
Something something owner cries racism
Something something Amoroso says mayor & police chief won't enforce noise ordinance violations
Something something amoroso accused of weaponizing ABC board to shut down restaurant

So now the mayor and council are trying to give half a million dollars to this guy through the crooked as a dog's hind leg council on aging.

BR's gonna BR. All of the articles (to read ^^ for yourself) are in the radvocate.

Have you ever met a teen in the juvenile jail here in br ?

I have and I can tell you they are typically not well mannered. All they deserve in one Bar S Bologna sandwich a day and a cup of tap water. These teens would rape your grandma and take her wedding rings after they kill her.
