I had LASIK about 10 years ago and it was the best money I’ve ever spent

Wow, this woman had to have some issues before the LASIK eye surgery ordeal. Maybe she saw her whole identity as being the news meteorologist and once she lost that she saw no other reason to live...which you know her kids at some point later in life will ponder.

Can someone get me up to speed? Is there some correlation now between LASIK surgery and depression/suicide? How does that work? Pain?

I could see how the pain could get to someone after awhile and if you read the link there a dude that was only 56 that killed himself after LASIK because of the pain as well...only difference is he did his procedure back in 1996, so he dealt with 20 years of pain before he offed himself. This girl seems to have barely made it a month before she departed.

Glasses are super “in” right now anyway.

Her hotness would not have been affected by glasses.

shite, Lasik is for posers.

I got RK done almost 20 years ago now. shite, over 20.

None of this pussy laser beam, they held my eyes open like "A clockwork Orange", and had the knife come down at me like "Fire in the Sky"

No 4 hour bullshite recovery either. Couldn't open my eyes for 36 hours straight, and when I finally tried to, they were completely crusted shut.

Dealt with a starburst effect at night for a good 10 years... but you know what...

I actually still have 20/20 vision and the starburst is gone. Paid $950 an eye.

Might still be the best money I have ever spent.

I've never understood the appeal of LASIK if you're able to get by fine with glasses or contacts.

Because they're a daily hassle, if you listen to the LASIK ads.

Do you wear glasses or contacts? Not dealing with that is awesome.

I use both. Neither are enough of a nuisance for me to agree to have some stranger shoot "laser beams" into my fricken' head.

If you are young, saves money in the long run. My buddy got it recently, guy was fricking blind. Now he can read things further away than I can. Never knew people were having issues with it. Maybe when it first came around, but now?

Terrible decision. She was a Mississippi State alum from broadcast meteorology.

I'd be curious to see if botched LASIK is tending up, but even if the risk is 0.5%, IMO it's not worth it. It is a slight inconvenience to put in contacts and/or wear glasses....

Wearing contact lenses is not even remotely risk free.

I had Lasik done in 2004. Still see 20/15.

The doctor was so confident his office allowed those in the waiting room to watch.

You’ve obviously never had to deal with contacts if you are asking this. I had the surgery and it was one of the best decisions of my life. That being said, I went to a Dr who knew what he was doing.

I had astigmatism. I couldn't see well with soft toric lenses. Alternative was gas permeable hard lenses which could be slept in. I had this thing with wanting to see across the room when I woke up.

Never liked the way I looked in glasses.

Anyhow, after years of sleeping in the gas perms, my eyes felt like they were done.

Had LASIK 16 years ago with no issues.

Glad I did it and would do it again if I needed a tweak in my vision.
