Messing with Craigslist scammers

I listed a car on Friday last week. Have had a few legitimate people reach out, but the overwhelming majority of texts I've received have been from scammers. The latest scam for car ads involves someone reaching out expressing interest, but trying to convince the seller to purchase a fake Carfax report from some sketchy website, then ghosting. I'm wondering if these are actually real people, or just somewhat realistic bots?
I had a little fun with them in the hopes of making at least one of them snap at me, but they ended up just stopping the replies.

if you are selling on craigslist then you deserve to be robbed or worse
congrats on being an arse and chasing off people who wanted to buy your vehicle, most sane people dont think its a good idea but you are just special i guess

I actually bought a tractor off a Craigslist ad. Gave a guy $500 to go get it in case it was a heist.

You might want to change your sig quote to include "keakar" as a sign of mental illness too.

You Tennessee folk are some odd birds.
And not very good at the football game either.
Do you still have Chrysler?

Those messages made me laugh. Craigslist never fails.

I just start sending butthole pics. Mine, my cat’s, random prolapsed ones etc.

I’ve recently found a couple channels on YouTube that find scammers in India and wastes their time and eventually tracks them down.
Don’t know why I enjoy those so much

There’s just as many scammers on there. A few months ago (just after Ida), my daughter wanted me to sell her Razor moped. I put it on FB market, and within minutes, I get a msg.
We go back and forth a couple times, and he finally asks me to send him my Google ID (or something, it’s something you do not share), to verify I’m not scamming him. I ask him where he’s located, and he says Thibodeaux. I don’t think they even have power back on down there after the storm. I asks him to tell me something that recently happened down there, he had no idea.

About 13 years ago my wife and I moved to Utah. Before going to look for a house, I checked out Craigslist. I was not familiar with it or its reputation. I found a house listed that sounded promising. After looking unsuccessfully at about 30 houses over 2-3 days, we found ourselves outside the Craigs house. We called the people and said we wanted to see the house. They asked for 15 minutes to get ready. It was an unbelievable house with views of the mountains, etc. at a great price. We got 10 years in it before having to move again, bought for $425K, sold for $530K in 2019, just recently it listed for $915K and sold. I realize that's probably the exception but sure worked for us.

Craigs was good at one time. But as always the criminals ruin it.
