I'm no expert but I have a couple of friends that have advanced degrees in psychology... One of them worked in rehab facility. He lost a couple of patients out of hundreds he treated. The best thing he did as treatment and also as his personal mental health was to create goals... Short term, medium term and long term. It sounds cliche but writing them down makes them real. It is okay to fail at something. You learn from it. You attempt to do something positive. Even if you don't complete the goal you moved forward and that is a win. I strongly recommend finding a genre of music you can listen to for a couple of hours and do that while completing yardwork. Or smoking a chicken. Or cleaning house. Combining some senses with any kind of productivity is good for the soul. "Moving branches or clearing brush," like G dub bush regardless of politics was his place to clear his mind. I joked about it years ago but as I've grown older and wiser there is a place we all need to find where we can. Gather our thoughts and grow spiritually.

1) reach out to fr33. Let the OT put a smile on your little girl this weekend

2) post your line of work/industry/job. Odds are that's someone here that can help you if you're qualified.

Don't give up and don't let pride get in the way. Godspeed.

if you worked for a company who would fire someone the week of Christmas, dont view that as a loss. View that as a way to legitimately upgrade your life

Never met you but brother you have a team, family, community around you. I have daughters, as well. Imagine one day walking that young lady down the aisle!! How much pride you will have on that day…

What you are battling doesn’t make you weak. It makes you human. Your daughter needs you, you need you, and so many more.

It has been a long 2 years for a lot of people. You are not alone. Keep fighting!!

Blake,
I just had a shift mate here at work take his own life two days after Thanksgiving. This is someone that I spend as much time with as my family, because we work 12 hour shifts.
He left behind two boys, 2 & 4 years old. He is not the victim here, those boys are.
What ever you do before you get help, DO NOT DRINK OR DO DRUGS!!!

These are the worst things you can do while feeling like this.

Call the hotline, call a good friend, hell, e-mail your number of people here that are offering help.

Don’t make your beautiful daughter a victim of a bad decision.

Are you a veteran? My friend was, served in Iraq. Suicide among veterans is very high. There’s a ton of help out there.

This hit too close to home. Lost my best friend this way and I can’t help but think of how he must of felt exactly like you do. He never told anyone, you’re reaching out and talking about it and that’s the #1 step. Please seek the professional help that’s out there like most of the OT is saying. Your daughter needs you

Seriously man, please contact me. More than a few people are wanting to help you play Santa this Christmas for you and your family. It’s not charity, it’s the OT. We’ve been there, more than you know. We’ve been in your shoes.

If not for you for your little girl.

Can’t do that to your family, especially your sweet daughter, she needs you and will never be the same if you were gone, especially like that

Hey Blake asking a big favor here.

Could you come back first thing in the morning and tell us how you're doing?

Your little girl I'm sure will have a big loving smile for Dad like always.

Appreciate it Blake.

I don't think so. The OT usually delivers in these kinds of threads.
