SAITAMA, Japan -- Team USA's invincibility in men's basketball is long gone, and the journey to a fourth consecutive gold medal is already fraught with adversity.
France gut-punched the Americans with a brilliant finish for an 83-76 victory to open the Tokyo Olympics on Sunday. It snapped a 25-game Olympic winning streak dating back to 2004 for Team USA.

Love the “journalism” regarding this lost. 1. France ain’t the Angola team from 1992 with a bunch of nobody’s. 2. US will still make it to the next round.

Same that has been said for weeks. Poorly constructed along with lots of opt outs, too much iso, Lack of true point guard distributor, NBA rules and style of play has made these players soft as tissue paper. Reminder most of the good bigs aren’t American: Jokic, Embiid, Giannis, Ayton, KAT (AD opted out)
Team USA led 74-67 with 3:20 remaining and then conceded a 14-0 run over the next 3 minutes. Sad. Team went cold last couple minutes.

Maybe the players should focus less on being woke and more on the sport that’s allowed them to rise to fame and fortune.
