That was starting to sound like some Forest Gump shite brah.
Glad it worked out.

A gymnast that I knew from high school pursued me pretty readily during my time at college (would leave me notes on my car, etc.)
I was in a LTR, so I didn't engage.
Married the LTR, she cheated, we got divorced less than two years after getting married.
Still no clue what happened to the gymnast.

Someone tried to set me up in late college with a "beautiful blonde who had her heart broken, she's a singer." I was thinking, who wants to date someone recovering from a relationship. So I declined. It was Faith Hill.

She was a black haired beauty with big dark eyes, and points all her own, sittin' way up high, way up firm and high...

I don’t really have one per se because most things played out whatever way that was okay. Closest one was a chick friend from HS, couple years younger, beautiful and smart and funny too, I love that combination. Mutual group of friends, which was cool. I really liked her. Flirted a lot. We walked together in my good friends wedding and had a very hot dance at the reception where she made some comment about cutting loose, but I was there with my college GF (then bitch mode but ended okay) so I had to bow out because of that.
However, she gradually became more oddly full of shite. Fast forward and she’s a full blown unhinged leftist whacko some kind of bullshite holistic shite whatever married to a true soy boy. Her FB pics looked fake as frick to the point of zero self awareness. Like, oh you're so fricking cool but not.
At some point during the Trump presidency she made some stupid FB post and I kinda called her out on it and she defriended me. At that point, zero fricks given.
So I don’t really consider it as the one that got away really, maybe just dodged a bullet. Or maybe she could have ended up differently if with a normal guy. Maybe not. Go forthwith.

She got away when the FedEx plane I was in crashed on an island and she had me declared dead. She kept my car and married some loser.

After my 1st divorce I dated and fell in love with the most awesome woman ever. Thin cute blue eyed blonde that adored me and I couldn't get enough of her. We realy loved each other. She had always been single with no kids; I was divorced with 2 and didn't want/couldn't have more. I eventually let her go because I loved her so much that I wanted her to have kids and experience all life had to offer.
Fast forward 2 decades; I'm divorced again but dating a perfectly beautiful yat that I would consider marrying and the old flame's getting a divorce (2 kids, 1 in travel ball) and calling me after all these years.
I'm too old for trouble; but am I wise yet?

It'll all be worth it when Jaxxton signs his MLB contract. Season tickets behind home plate for life.

Just comes with the territory of only ever going after women who are way out of my league. It usually blows up in my face, but sometimes, I get a decent serious relationship out of it.
This one I'm dealing with now, though. I have never in my life felt this strongly about someone after knowing them for so short a time. I haven't felt this way about anyone since I was a teenager, and that includes my ex-wife.
I just know it's not going to work out. I know she doesn't have the same feelings for me that I have for her. I just don't know what to do other than to just be a friend and try to find a relationship elsewhere.
It just sucks when you have seemingly perfect chemistry with someone, and just ridiculous amounts of common interests and relationship compatibility, but they don't have that attraction for you. I don't think there's much I can do about that, though.
You can't reason your way in or out of love or physical attraction.

We met at a Popeyes, it was a match made in heaven. I was chowing down on a Chicken Po' Boy when this pretty girl shouted that Bubba Watson had won the Masters. I got so excited I jumped up and did a fist pump, my pants fell down and so did my Po' Boy. Not a day goes by when I don't think of how good it would have been to finish eating that Po' Boy before it dropped on the floor. The one that got away, baws...

PSA to 90% of this thread: You being too much of a pussy to ask someone out doesn’t make them the one that got away.
For me, there’s two that cross my mind often:
1. Chemical Engineer cheerleader high school girlfriend, liked lesbian porn - she got her momma’s thighs during cornteen though.
2. Stacked pageant queen with personality - I couldn’t get over her chicken legs and she laid there like a sack of potatoes.

For entertainment purposes:
Looking back now I wonder about a number of opportunities I passed up, and some with whom I had one-nighters or short flings. But I always was a serial monogamist, looking for someone special for a LTR.
So to pick one anecdote: Once went through my bank drive-up to deposit a check, and the teller behind the window was one of the most stunning young women I had ever seen. It was almost their closing time so I asked if she wanted to go to dinner when she got off. Hey, shooters shoot, I just liked those 3-pointers. She declined. I drove away.
The next day my phone rang and it was the young lady saying that she reconsidered and would accept if I was still willing. (I later learned from the woman bank manager that she had overheard my invitation and asked the teller who it was. The young lady looked down at my check and read my name and the manager told her, "You should have said 'Yes'.")
She was 20 years old, 5'9 1/2" and fit (ran a 26+ mile marathon across the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway) and had dropped out of high school at 16 when she was signed as a model by the Eileen Ford Agency in New York (think Christie Brinkley, Cheryl Tiegs, Ali McGraw, Brooke Shields, etc.). After a few years there she had decided to leave that life, though I never asked why.
So we went out a few times, but I couldn't see myself long-term with someone whose idea of conversation was shopping and the price of her new boots, despite how gorgeous she was. Thought there was no shortage of available pretty and intelligent women. So it's not so much that she got away, but I sometimes wonder now just how much it would be worth to me to have one unbridled night with her again.
Have a good evening/morning.
