Bowling is a great group activity. Live music, especially original music, has a community aspect to it, but can be very snobby and cliquey. Walking/running groups and coed adult rec sports leagues can be fun.

All of my hobbies are very expensive:

1. Backyard astronomy and astrophotography.

2. Driving a vintage Porsche through the backroads of north Texas.

3. Stamp collecting - you should see the prices!

4. Fiction writing - four novels published (none are bestsellers).

This. I've been doing jits now for over 15 years. Once you get past the I'm gonna tap everyone stage and roll with some upper level guys, it is like playing chess. Very addictive.

I also lift and do cardio to help me with jits and just stay in decent shape at 50, but I guess it is still a hobby.

Golf. I have been playing since I was a kid. I used to be really good when I wasn't as muscular. I still like to play but its a tradeoff between being somewhat swole and being in golf shape.

I love to saltwater fish and hunt ducks/geese. Everything takes a backseat when it is time to go to the salt or kill some birds.

Train Labs. Another hobby I picked up when I was in high school. During the first year or so of training a dog, a lot of my other hobbies get shelved for dog training. I run my dogs in HRC. Mostly in the Spring after hunting season.

Photography. Pretty much just waterfowl. I will pick up my camera and still head to the field after duck season closes. I also started doing this in high school and stuck with it. It's like jits. Can get addictive. I used to submit my stuff to get published in outdoor magazines but when ducks started looking like price tags I quit and now I just do it for fun mostly.

Somewhere in there I made time for a wife for almost 30 years and had 2 kids.

Should’ve known. It doesn’t have the “pulpit” circular gun tub of the Priest.

Darts, billiard, ski ball. Chicks love skiball. If you like games maybe hit up one of those rec room type places.
Usually a bunch of hipster types but can be fun when u get a group of friends. Nice to play Mexican train dominos and then switch to crimes against humanity while being served beer.

Just pick a couple and go do them. Then figure out which one/ones you like best and carry-on. Good luck and I know it is difficult if you've recently moved. But, you gotta put yourself out there. Bowling is another one.

I collect and customize action figures. I also build dioramas for them. Makes costumes, collect vinyl, and do a little gardening here and there. Also started wakeboarding.

Racquetball. I googled r’ball in Boston and they have many clubs. Some have squash and tennis courts too.

If you’re athlete you can pick it up quickly. You will have the opportunity to meet a lot of folks I would think; especially if you play in club tournaments.

Working out

Cooking
Learning to play guitar
I have firearms but probably going to get a few more and try to get more skilled.
I watch a little sports but the last few years killed my interest.
