I knew a guy in college who was 5-5 at most, but he had a cute face and confidence. He married one of my good friends who was 5 foot and extremely attractive. Most women just want someone taller than them. Even at 5-6, there are a ton of girls out there who will date you if you are relatively cute and have some confidence.

I agree. The problem is men understanding that women put alot of BS in their dating app profiles that dating app algorithms use to filter out people who don't fit their exact details.
For dating apps to work they need exact preferences, so even if you aren't a hardliner on things like, height, money, etc. the dating apps will require it or else you're just overloaded with messages, especially for women.
There's what women say they want and what they actually go out and do.
