Meeting your ex's new significant other

It is a milestone of a divorce with kids. The ex now has a new S.O. and they are spending lots of time together with the kids.
For those who have done this....when did you meet the new person? How did it go?

Should you or the ex introduce a new partner before meeting children? Should they need approval?
I pray I never go through a divorce. That sounds like so much shite too worry about and deal with if there’s kids involved.
