Need a quick safety topic for a presentation. What’re some interesting topics you’ve seen in the past?

For our office meetings where we had to talk about safety, a good thing was always safe driving. You can find a ton of stuff online to use.
Distracted driving or during bad weather, etc.

Guys, we had an accident last night. Just a reminder that your finger does not go in the compression die in a 480 volt rod welder.

Have a safe day.

It is not unloaded until you have checked it personally.

Wrap that rascal.

Proper jobsite footwear can be safe and comfortable.

tell them that the pyramid model is complete bullshite. It is causing people to look too hard at nails on the ground and miss the major process issues and a lack of competency. The desire to meet certain metrics is preventing people from seeing the forest for the trees

ETA for anyone not in the industry and is curious. The pyramid model would be akin to the Broken Windows model of policing that Giuliani used in New York. It has a place. But the pyramid model as used today is akin to saying "officers, each of you must find 10 broken windows every night and it will be counted against you if you dont. This is the only thing we care about."

Finding broken windows then becomes THE metric that the police force uses to claim its success, ignoring some of the bigger, glaring problems. Rookie officers feel the pressure to go in search of broken windows or even pencil whip a broken windows form. Supervisors are auditing officers on their ability to fill out the broken windows form. A properly filled out form equals success and maybe even a free lunch.

Detective Soft Hands, fresh out of detective school, finds an error while observing senior officer O'Malley, reports it and takes a big steaming dump on O'Malley in front of his peers. The detective gets an attaboy and O'Malley gets put on traffic patrol. Meanwhile, a guy from Georgia is wandering around downtown Baton Rouge looking for crack and ends up in in a carpet roll off Scenic Hwy.

Sorry for the rant. Its just hard to watch this unfold
