Sounds like our safety topics. Hand safety, seat belts, I guess all safety topics are pretty much the same.

For our office meetings where we had to talk about safety, a good thing was always safe driving. You can find a ton of stuff online to use. Distracted driving or during bad weather, etc.

Agreed, I did safe driving in the rain last presentation. Huge hit

Little extreme for the corporate office, but a good suggestion

A safety moment most can relate to are dropped objects. Leaving a tool on top of a ladder… leaving something loose on an object being picked up by an overhead crane etc. Things like that fall and hit someone on the head.

Well used safety topic at BP, Shell, etc…

Where are the fire extinguishers located?

Don't take Margaret's Lean Quisines from the break room freezer.

Finding broken windows then becomes THE metric that the police force uses to claim its success, ignoring some of the bigger, glaring problems. Rookie officers feel the pressure to go in search of broken windows or even pencil whip a broken windows form. Supervisors are auditing officers on their ability to fill out the broken windows form. A properly filled out form equals success and maybe even a free lunch.

Damn, really? I thought "broken window" was just an expression, like a stand-in for not tolerating minor violations. I think maybe the police departments you're talking about took it a little too literally. Unless you're just pulling our legs, in which case that was a pretty well-written post.

This Saturday night we will lose an hour of sleep. This coupled with widespread use of allergy meds this time of year due to pollen is gonna have everyone sleepy as hell for the next week or so.

I was comparing the broken windows policy to the "zero tolerance" policy in the petrochemical industry. I assume OP is in the industry, The police dept stuff was just a colorful way of comparing.

Perfect. I went with this suggestion coupled with some tired driving accident statistics. Thanks!
