Reminds me more of ethical hacking.

You're making arenas aware of weaknesses that could be exploited by people wanting to do harm before they do harm

Kids now don't know how to talk to anyone outside of social media. How else is he supposed to tell people, to their face?

yea I have a friend who has gotten into quite a few sporting events by acting the part. He'll post pics from the events but never anything about sneaking in.

Media Pass looks about as basic as the ones for LSU football. You would have to know someone with the current pass though because they change colors every game. Kid must have had some inside info.

I snuck onto the field during a Bama game years ago. I was wearing the Nike pullover like the coach's wear. Saw the gate to the field open and thought what the hell. Acted like I knew what I was doing and the guard didn't say anything. Don't know if he was an idiot or thought I was a G.A. or something. After the game, I got my friends onto the field by going up to another guard and saying "They're ok. Let them on in." You can basically get into anything if you just act like you know what you're doing.

The best story ever is the Notre Dame fan who dressed up like a priest and went to a ton of games over multiple seasons. He got access to the sideline, etc. Nobody ever said anything to him because who would ever question a priest at a Notre Dame game?

At the 06 uga/ole miss game in oxford I had a ticket so I was obviously allowed in the stadium. I was in one of the lower level concourses and the opening onto the field was right there, so I moseyd on up there and nobody was staffing it. So I walked right onto the field. I was standing direclty behind the goalpost where our RBs were warming up in the endzone. I was probably 5 feet from where we were warming up.

However, after a few minutes someone came and told me to leave. I was not dressed as a staffer since I was wearing red pants and swaying pretty badly due to all the liquor I'd been drinking. They were cool about it though, I just went to my seat.

Yay. Point out that security is lacking at major sporting events. Get someone fired. Such a hero.

I love stories like that - this kid is awesome.

Back when U2 played in the Superdome I did something similar implying that I worked for the Loyola student newspaper. I had actual tickets to the concert later on but I was able to walk on the stage and get a close up look of the mirrorball lemon and the arch Confidence and a sense of entitlement goes a long way. It is easily used for free upgrades to near-courtside seats in virtually any non-packed NBA, NHL, or MLB venue in America.

For him saying the truth?

It's not as if he said he shouldn't have done it, but rather kept his mouth shut and not been an attention whore over it.

There's a thread somewhere on TexAgs that I got linked to once of some guy who went down onto the field, and onto the A&M sidelines with the team and even stood next to Sumlin during his halftime interview.
