Took 4 pages to find the union hand.
Those tax breaks aren't given with the ultimatum the jobs be given to overpaid, lazy arse union workers. For every union job, you can create 3 non union jobs. Moron

nah bruh, I'm white collar, 3rd gen LSU grad. Just fail to see the value in giving away tax break to multi-billion dollar international corporations for building stuff they would have done anyway, which then passes on the tax burden to middle class homeowners and small business owners, like me. Then they don't even follow through on the promised jobs.

True, and you can pay everyone less, provide fewer benefits, and let Uncle Sam subsidize your profits. That's the Walmart way.

This is where your line of thinking breaks down. The multi-billion dollar international companies have alot of options on where to build. If we don't offer tax breaks, they will build elsewhere. These jobs (which provide dignity of work to many) and the associated taxes are good for our area and worthy of investment.

No they build them in Texas instead. Sure they do maintenance on their facilities that are already here, but they won't expand them or build new ones.

Secession St. George would be better.

Since, you know, it makes sense.

Really? What would St. George be seceding from? Is the area in the city limits? Do they want to leave the parish? Enlighten us.

False. The corrupt government of Baton Rouge is the City/Parish government which would still be over a municipal government for St. George.

By incorporating, they hope to secede from the East Baton Rouge Parish School System, but the creation of an independent school system would be far from automatic upon incorporation.

As I said the first time, quit wasting time and money standing outside the shopping centers on Siegen getting signatures for verification and take all your money and lobby the hell out of the state legislature to allow ISD's to form.

I'd bet if they got a "coalition" of leaders from places like Jeff Parish, Lafayette, LC, Bossier, etc. they'd get the votes they need.

Time it for the 2019 Republican Gov., though...JBE isn't signing that bill.

Where else will they find the existing plant infrastructure, a giant river for transporting raw materials and finished products, compliant politicians and population, that allows them to pollute the air and water with impunity? They just have you fooled. They aren't going anywhere.

The existing facilities aren’t going anywhere. You’re right.

Expansions and moderinazations will take place at their facilities all along the TX Gulf Coast. And, ultiamately, the LA facilities will be left behind.
