My old truck may be kicking the bucket. Wife wants medium size SUV like a highlander or pilot. What recommendations do you guys have? heard some chatter about a new kia or hyundai option.

Bang for buck, its hard to beat the Telluride or Palisade.

Lots of reviews put them on the top of that list.

I would recommend the Pilot. Very safe vehicle.

Pilot. Lasts forever, and good resale.

I'ma tell you what. Kia has a new small SUV Hybrid called the Niro that can be ran on just electric when you want to for like 27 miles. Combined with the gas motor it will do over 250 miles.

That's what hybrids have been missing , being able to select if you want to only run on EV.
For most people they would never have to run the gas motor during the work week.

My wife drives a Hyundai Santa Fe GLS with V6. It's been a great vehicle and fits our family of 4 (2 teenage kids) just fine. All leather, heated front/rear seats, reclining back seats. Good power, handles great, its really been a great vehicle. Also come with a 7 years 100,000 mile warranty that's we've never had to use. Our only issue was an hose broke, hoses aren't covered by warranty, cost me $450 to get repaired.

VW Atlas is probably the best for kids.
Toyota Highlander (2020 model) appears to have the best active cruise control tech.

For some reason, the adaptive cruise control on the CR-V can be used in heavy traffic. Not the case in the Pilot.

Kind of annoying that Honda wants you to get the MDX to have that feature.

My wife has a '13 pilot. It's very noisy, like road noise. They may have fixed it in the newer models. I read that was a problem in the older models before we bought, but I also read that they put some sound dampening in the '13. If so, it must sound like a freight train in the '12 and older.

Also, I noticed a year or so ago that the paint right above the windshield started peeling in two spots. Then started noticing other pilots around town in the same color & age with similar issues. So, I googled it and there are a ton of people with the issue, but Honda won't issue a recall. Examples below. I'd be hesitant to buy another Honda if they don't stand behind their product.

new or used?

IMHO 4runner is the way to go, its an suv with roomy interior and they will go 500k miles if you change oil regularly
