Tell her to get her country arse to the doctor and get an x-ray.

No reason to wait, if for no other reason than to get pain relief. Full weight of horse on a foot it's probably broken anyway. Take SO to a limp-in clinic.

Take her to the vet. They have X-ray equipment there.

She should ride the horse to the doc. It owes her one.

In all honesty, if she doesn't have much to do and can ice it hard and stays off it, it can probably wait until tomorrow. She just shouldn't do more damage or let it go untreated, but even if it's a bad enough break to need reconstruction, that won't happen today.

FWIW, I almost never go to the doctor, even when I clearly should, so I'm not the best source of advice.

Can she Uber there?
if I'm hearing horse then Uber is most likely not an option.
But she could ride said horse though.

That's the rules.

No greater place than the OT to ask medical questions. Waiting on the first AIDS reference.

Did I know your SO rode? I don’t think I did. Hope it isn’t broken for her sake.

I did once have a vet cray a broken foot for me, but it was not from having a horse step on me.

She was an equestrian as a little girl, got back into it a few years ago along with her kid. She has a retired thoroughbred she's trying to sell. Hard to justify financially since the kid lost interest.

Market sucks right now. Except on the high end, with the imports, etc. too many warmblood snobs turning up their noses at TBs.

Even if I had all the money in the world I’d still only have OTTBs.
Really hope it isn’t broken.

The red line for medical diagnosis in the field is the ability to bear weight. If the person can walk on it, they can wait. If they can't bear weight, they need to go to the hospital.

Ignore everyone else and listen to this guy.

RICE and go somewhere other than an ER tomorrow if she can walk on it.

Call a cab and tell the driver to step on it.

I'll take her to an urgent care. May as well get some antibiotics while there though.

Would there be a downside to waiting until tomorrow if it is actually broken?
Pain would be a downside.
Infection/inflammation would be a downside.

If your SO is a fairly tough girl, and she cannot put pressure on her foot, it is probably broken.
