But IQ is supposed to measure intelligence rather than education level. The actual reason those states are the lowest is because optimal brain development requires abundant resources. The American states with the lowest IQ rates have the highest percentage of malnourished citizens.

Speaking of IQs I have been reading about the midwit trap or midwit conundrum

It basically comes to the conclusion that people with an IQ from 115 to 125 are dumber than those above or below them.

It is only the midwit that believes that all smart people should pursue high-fee active investing strategies, and as a result the midwits (as a whole) are the only ones that underperform.

Because IQ tests aren't actually an accurate assessment of intelligence. Scores are influenced by knowledge of things that may be more common in some places than others. They can have some value in comparing one OTers intelligence to another, but not in comparing my intelligence with an aboriginise.
