I would not push my kid to go to med school
Doctor’s are paper pushers at this point particularly primary care and hospitalists and it gets worse all the time.

1. Download Anki and learn how to use it.
2. Watch boards and beyond
3. Get FA general principles for Biochem
Other than that, don’t be a dickhead gunner. Everyone else is just as if not smarter than you, focus on learning the material not how other people are doing. And for the love of god don’t be the guy that raises his hand every lecture just to ask questions that could be easily answered by a google search. It doesn’t make you look smart, the professors are aware that you’re just brown-nosing and everyone else just wants to go home, not sit around an extra twenty minutes cause you like the sound of your own voice.

Gets ready to break your balls over details you dont understand how they may matter. Turns out most of them matter, the curriculum can’t cover everything encompassed by board exams.
It’s a shite show and the time of your life, its essentially undergrad 2.0 with higher stakes.
Don’t worry about studying before to get a leg up, it wont matter. Year 1 is hard AF but once anatomy is over it gets better, then you get a whole new type of challenge second year... it gets easier, and paradoxically harder.
Don’t be afraid or shy to get to know some admin/profs closely, those will be great relationships to lean on.

M0? Is M1 first year med school? LSU-NO always called them L1-L4 for med school back in the day. I think PGY is universal for resident year.

Correct, but "Team fricking Morose" just doesn't have the same ring to it, and I used to give a lot of shite in the Name Change threads.
Chicken has addressed me as "Helpful Doc" once or twice, though.
Related note: I took an 18-24m hiatus from posting during the latter part of 1st year through mid-ish 3rd year. It may be a useful move for the OP.
