GM knows they have a shite product yet refuse to address it.
It’s their MO for the last 10-15 yrs.
Why I will not be buying one in the foreseeable future.

My friend your about to rebuild that transmission or get rid of the car entirely. There's no way around this

You should be asking them to look at your motor mounts. It ain't the transmission.
This place never disappoints, you press the gas down and vehicle does not move you have bad motor mounts, geez. OP has a bad trans, depending on their desire to keep vehicle and financial means, probably best to replace with re man and keep going. That’s typical of that vehicle with those miles.

LOL, I'll own that - definitely one of my best. I clearly did not read the OP, in my defense it was late and there were drinks. I have had to replace motor mounts on the last 2 GMCs and it did clearly bump beforehand. But obviously this is not that.

It was so dumb I refused to comment on it.

It doesn’t have an odor, it’s brown
The best way to visually analyze tranny fluid if to put a drop on a papertowel. Brown fluid is an issue but given the issues you reported it is not surprising that it has been overheated.
It won't help the OP (at least with this tranny) but since it is a tranny thread I will toss in my 2 cents.
It is my opinion that in general transmission fluid services are too far apart based on the scheduled maintenance charts. For most cars it is a simple (though sometimes dirty) job that is not very expensive. I suggest 30k drain and fill and 60k filter on the outside. I like to exchange between 25 and 33% of transmission fluid every oil change. If the transmission has a drain plug in the pan a simple drain will usually remove an amount of fluid in that range. If the pan doesn't have a drain plug I use an oil extractor (pic below) to remove the oil through the dip stick hole (do it with the fluid warm). If you have a sealed transmission then it is a different story.
One last note, a lot of transmissions are very particular about the fluid formulation and as a result I always use OE fluid. You can normally get it on Amazon for most makes cheaper than the parts counter and saves a trip.
PM on a transmission is easy to defer and easy to forget about. Linking partial fluid replacement with oil changes prevents this and is cheap insurance IMO.

While I have my issues with GM, this one went 164k with NO service. I don't think you can fairly classify that as a "shite product".

165k on a 2017 Chevy is outstanding this day and age be happy you got that much
Are you joking? I’ve never heard of anyone over 30 burning up a transmission. Drive it responsibly and make sure it has fluid and it goes 500k.
Wearing out synchros on a manual is a different story as long as it’s 2nd gear.

You have no idea what you are talking about. Chevy and Ford both have crap transmissions starting in 2017. It is a known issue. In fact here you go:
A major class action lawsuit against General Motors (GM) is ongoing, alleging that certain vehicles equipped with 8L90 or 8L45 eight-speed automatic transmissions, manufactured between 2015 and March 1, 2019, have defective transmissions that cause issues like shuddering, jerking, and hard shifts. The lawsuit covers a wide range of GM vehicles, including Chevrolet, Cadillac, and GMC models.
Key aspects of the lawsuit:
Allegations:
Plaintiffs claim that GM knowingly sold vehicles with defective transmissions that cause shuddering or shaking in higher gears and hesitation, lurching, or jerking in lower gears.
Affected Vehicles:
The lawsuit covers vehicles equipped with the GM 8L90 or 8L45 eight-speed automatic transmissions, manufactured between 2015 and March 1, 2019.
