"These are young kids and they are going to make mistakes, but it is not acceptable."
Last month, Morganelli called the video "repulsive" and "very insulting" as he launched an investigation into whether it stepped over the line of free speech and into harassment that is prohibited by law.

I think it's better to view these stories separately rather than compare against other incidents that may be wrongly handled. When we're constantly comparing against either other, it's fueling the fire of divisiveness.

Maybe so, but wouldn't that imply that the Chicago case was inappropriately handled?

He was not charged with a hate crime. He was charged with ethnic intimidation and harassment. And they got the charges correct. I am all for the hate charges in Chicago. However let's see how that turns out first. .

Yes. And hate crime is a very specific charge. He was not charged with a "hate crime".
