One resident, Benet Embry, a black man, posted on Facebook about the events leading up to the police call. “Look, I LIVE in this community and this ENTIRE incident is NOT racial at all,” Embry wrote. “A few THUGS spoiled a COMMUNITY event by fighting, jumping over fences into a PRIVATE pool, harassing and damaging property. Not EVERYTHING is about RACE. WE have other issues that NEED our attention other flights of made up make believe causes.”

What he did to the girl however was completely out of line along with how he handled himself prior to that. Those actions should likely get his arse fired. Not the pulling of the gun.

Pull your firearm on teenagers will definitely be looked at with a questionable eye. The way he handled the female was absurd.

Btw, every social media news site seems to be picking apart his Youtube account. Apparently he was smart enough to delete his linkedin, Facebook & Twitter accounts.

The policeman should have been suspended for wearing white socks with black pants- a real fashion faux pas.

She committed assault and battery and resisted arrest.

Maybe next time she might choose to obey when an officer makes demands.

I agree, and I'm in no way defending the cop. To this point about the most exciting thing these cops had likely done was direct traffic after church or write tickets for cars parked facing the wrong way in a neighborhood street.

The cop needs to be fired. Kids should have walked away, but the cops actions were unacceptable.

Depends on where sidewalk is on property. Look at sidewalks of surrounding houses and how close to the street and the walkway in the park and how far it is at most spots.

Unfortunately, the law is on his side. You can't fight a cop to protect your friend from getting roughed up unless you are willing to accept the consequences.

While i think he should have grabbed his pepper spray or tazer at that point, his training likely caused him to reach for his gun once he felt threatened.

Once again, I agree that he appeared to act overly aggressive throughout the video. That being said, there are certain actions that I can understand why they occurred. Regardless, swinging a teenage girl by the hair for being belligerent, or any reason, is ridiculous.

How about someone from your side answering why these fricking kids don't leave private property when cops show up and tell them to?

she was leaving. he then walked after her, drug her to the ground and pinned her with his knees.

Exactly. The pulling of the gun as an isolated incident isn't a problem. Those guys ran up to him as he was trying to subdue the girl.

Wut? That was a HUGE problem. If you feel threatened, pull out a freaking night stick or a taser. If he was alone, I could maybe understand pulling weapon like that? You have to have situational awareness, and the fact the other police ran over and were like WTF DO YOU HAVE THAT OUT FOR doesn't exactly help your stance.

She also broke the law by trespassing and committing assault and battery.

So if I commit a crime and as long as i leave, it's cool?

Got it

The girl was trashy but he was just the epitome of the douche cop stereotype. His voice was just dripping with insecurity and taking offense that someone would challenge his badge. Just another loser who has his entire self-worth wrapped in being a cop.

The first cop you could hear was obviously much more sensible, as were the cops that showed up when he was going to blast away at a group of teens.

I don't care how loud or annoying the kids were being, that cop went full on retard. And I get it, I'm sure he was frustrating with the kids, they weren't showing him any respect, etc, but you just don't pull your gun on unarmed kids. You have to show more restraint than that

im sorry, but ill again point out that while restraining someone, and having 4 girls yelling in his face two boys tried to creep up behind him on his holster side --- does it look bad for officer you have a gun out at a pool party? definitely. does a pair of kids creeping towards his gun while things are hitting the fan warrant the reaction? very possibly.

in the overall seeming failure of situational awareness -- thats one that offends me little.
