Anybody notice this? If you order breakfast and don't specify that you want a small coffee, they just automatically uptick it to a medium (without asking) and add a 20 cent upcharge.

Not grousing about the 20 cents, but it just seems like a sneaky way of doing business. Most people wouldn't even notice until they got their bigger coffee.

FIFY

It's just like when the medium sized drink became a small, and a large became a medium. Super sized America, folks.

Most fast food chains make big bucks off of hidden upcharges like this. McDonald's is the worst though. You have to order smart and use the dollar menu when possible. But even the dollar menu has stuff over a dollar.

Why exactly do you have no responsibility to tell them what size you want?

Don't all the combos come with... mediums?

Easy there SJW. Let's not compare that 32 oz diabetes maker to my giant cup of Joe. Gots to have me some morning caffeine.

What pisses me off about MDs is the small amount of condiments they give you. I always have to ask 2-3 times for more shite.

They and Sonic will also upcharge you for ordering a small drink with a meal that ordinarily comes with a medium drink.

They do have good coffee. Make sure the lid is on correctly when you take it from the drive thru. The other day I spilled hot coffee all over my hand, shirt, shorts and car.

I always specify the size I want anyway, so I never noticed any uptick.

That situation was so misrepresented.

There's a doc out about that...

But I am talking about the McCafe revitalization...

A regular drink is considered a medium. So if you say nothing, you get "regular".

Small and large or different.

Who the frick wants a small coffee

Canes is 10x worse. you ask for ketchup and they will give you 1 pack. You ask for more and they'll give you 1 more pack. Never seen a more stingy restaurant, especially considering their profit margins

If someone is that worried about 20 cents, then they should specify exactly what they want.

I think subway takes the cake on that one. Unless you ask for more napkins, you will only get 1 maybe 2 napkins. Also one time I made the mistake of asking for two extra meatballs on a footlong sub so the sub would actually be full. The girl said they would have to charge for double meat if they use more than x amount of meatballs.

As far as McD's though, there are some locations that charge 20-30 cents more for extra condiments and do not have packs of condiments either. Some also charge 25 cents for a pack of bbq sauce. I asked if I could give back the 10 packs of ketchup they gave me in exchange for pack of bbq sauce and thr mngr said nope.
