I don't know a ton about engines, but this seems like a pretty big deal.

I think I read something recently about it coming back, but maybe not since they have this new engine.

The Wankel is great, until it breaks.

Yawn, Call me when it runs on beer

Wankel is also hugely inefficient, isn’t it?

So a programmer will actually make a difference in a gas engine now?

It is... I'm very nerded out about it right now. Between this and freevalve camless engine, I think the ICE has plenty of life left in it for the future.

You think the CAFE regs are realistic?

This seems like a complicated design that switches between compression ignition and conventional spark plug ignition when more torque is needed. Thanks but no thanks. The more complicated a design the more likely something is to break. Compression ignition for gasoline engines seems like a good idea but it needs to good enough not to require spark-plug ignition some of the time.

frick if I know. They've been able to figure it out so far.

Just wait for the electromagnetic pulse. We will all be SOL.
