I don't know. Used to seem impossible, until Dollar Bill Jefferson, Mayor Nagin and Oliver Thomas all spent time there. Karen Carter Peterson just pled guilty to fraud, so she'll likely be visiting. And DA Jason Williams' whole inner circle and ex-wife have taken plea deals, so he's on deck too with all of his FED tax fraud charges.

Thanks to all the white liberals uptown for giving us Teedy. The Tulane professors, the carpetbagger transplants in $2 million houses, the white guilt riddled women in their yoga outfits. They own this disgrace.

It wasn’t the white liberals. It was the white monied conservatives. They didn’t think they could control Desi, so the uptown business folks put their juice behind the obviously incompetent Cantrell. Torres did the same thing.

This is correct but not the whole story. She was actually a pretty business-friendly councilmember when she represented District B. She had a track record of supporting development. She also made a lot of promises prior to her first campaign to wealthy donors (which, of course, were never met). Then once she was elected, she immediately got drunk with power (and drunk at Felipe's) and gave her supporters the finger.

In a lot of cities it's because the prevailing winds come from the west. All of the smoke and smells from the factories, slaughterhouses, etc. would blow to the east side of the city so it was a less desirable area to live.

That’s what I said in another post.
They won’t show her visitors or guest she’s having at the condo but they teased something about a party she threw before the LSU/Fla St game that will air tonight on FOX 8.
