Sorry, but that crew simply enjoys titles and cares nothing of actually doing the work associated with said title. That's why they all insist upon being called Dr., attorney, mayor, councilman, reverend, etc.

Title is the number one priority and nothing else really matters. That's why they think meetings and hosting events are actually accomplishments.

I just watched a June bug fly into my patio wall and end upside down, within 3 seconds and 2 hops, a frog came and tongued that fricker up.

Maybe SWB is a successful mayor to that lady. It's all about perspective.

The sad thing is that the mayor, who can do no wrong in their eyes, is harming the communities I'd assume this woman lives in through her attitude and policies.

If we're talking about even just her core staff of four, that's one meeting per person every other day.

Even if we're just talking about her...two meetings/events a day? shite. Kip would do 7-10 without skipping a beat.

I hope WAFB keeps pressing for a copy of that now canceled contract.

She stiffed LSU on paying for the work they did, turned around and signed a contract for him for almost $10K with this total piece of garbage. She tried to hire some lying goofball to be the CAO and slip by our noses that this guy had a record of lying and being fired. Now it's not Green Light II but it looks exactly like it.

All of it seems to be a pattern of behavior where the Mayor says she's doing one thing. Then in reality she's upped and done another. Each time she expresses confusion, ignorance or denials regarding her true intent.

It was a shaky start. Then it got ugly. Now it's downright repugnant.

I'm shocked at how the media has been on her arse, but I'm glad. Nakamoto needs to make her life a living hell. Make it to where she dreads just waking up in the morining.

Seriously, that's a line you throw in on a resume to fluff it up, not an "accomplishment"

It's a fancy way of saying "fulfilled the most basic job requirement of the position"

Honestly, I think she has no idea what is actually going on around her. I think she delegates her job to everyone around her so she doesn't have to do anything except frick off all day. I would be willing to bet that she does a total amount of 5 hrs of mayoral work in a week.

At this point I think she's just incompetent and in over her head.

Someone made a good point a few days ago (can't recall where) that at no time in her elected history, until now, has she had a constituency that was more than 20% republican (white, conservative, whatever you want to put here). Essentially her entire political career has been in districts where there is no diversity of thought, process, engagement.

These types of "community meetings" may have gotten you reelected in the State Senate, but they aren't going to fly in EBR Parish as a whole.

Yeah, that is a pretty good point. Just throw out some populous buzzwords and you're in like flint.

She won 95% of the black vote by being born black.

Gissel beats Broome, IMO. He just lacked the name recognition outside of BR proper for the jungle primary.

Mayoral elections are interesting. Most data suggests that people will ignore political parties to support the candidate that best demonstrates a passion for the city.

See Kip Holden winning white, republican districts by greater margins than black, democratic districts.

I always found Kip to be a relatively moderate, non-divisive Dem. I didn't mind him at all. He will be missed moving forward.

Oh I agree with you. But to some people the show is more important than reality. They're the types who go through life without questioning things and cant understand why you don't give more credence to those who hold themselves out as leaders.
