He also said OYO FAFO in the video.
imagine if he said FAFO to the c-r-i-m-i-n-a-l-s in BR?
Mayor coach sure does like to talk tough to out of town motel owners.
and litterbugs.

estimated to cost over $1 million,
Waste of money… have BRPD add the parking lot to their route until the property could be sold to a private investor… let them be responsible for demolishing it not our tax money

Solves nothing. It’s actually a solid location and had a great layout. Degenerates didn’t come to Baton Rouge for the Oyo. Degenerates that went to Oyo will just go to a different hotel. The people are the issue.
It’s better than doing nothing
Just take out these nasty places one at a time and rebuild nicer

It was originally called the Admiral Benbow Inn. Worked as busboy & did the food room service there in mid-1970s. It was a thriving hotel way back in the day. Jeff Welch played the organ/piano in the hotel lounge nightly. Met the Doobie Brothers’ band members while staying there for their BR show. A lot of fond memories and a damn shame it has deteriorated to this.

estimated to cost over $1 million, will begin, despite a new hiccup: the building caught fire early Wednesday morning.
Why not just let it burn?

I lived in the apartments behind there 20+ years ago. It was a shithole then as a still functioning hotel.

And next to it was an IBM building. Sherwood Forest Blvd pretty much ended when it hit I-12.

#2 had $4 a gallon in the 80's, full service of course. My dad and the owner were good friends, they agree to let me start an expense account. I was a runner for a law office and that account got closed after my dad got his first bill. .25 cents a mile and $5.00 an hour
I was killing it at 16.

I had some good times at that Nightclub over the years. A pickup bar in a hotel was such a good business model.
