This, if Naquin forced the kid then he would have gotten a stiffer charge.

He was convicted of negligent homicide. He was asked by other members to tone the hazing down, he didn't. He is over 21 and should understand the consequences of asking a pledge to chug everclear for ten seconds. He is old enough to understand the consequences of asking the kid to take 10 to 12 chugs of everclear over the course of the bible study.

He ignored that and hazed the shite out of someone who he openly didnt like. His frat bros were even concerned with the health of the pledges at the bible study. They poured some of the everclear down the sink and replaced it with water. They knew the hazing was going to far.

This isn't even bringing into account the obstruction of justice charge by deleting his cell phone files minutes after a warrant was issued.

I have a hard time feeling bad for a frat that has a hazing event in this day and age. And I have a hard time feeling bad for Naquin who took the hazing to far.

This basically.

A jury of our peers knew Naquin was guilty with blood on his hands and declared as such and he is getting what he deserves right now.

And the thing is that it's more opportunity than the dead kid has right now.

Truth is this rarely happens in a manner that doesn't occur on sports teams, etc. and even then the newsworthy stuff is pretty rare.

Making pledges clean and study and get food for people is like 90% of what would be considered hazing now. And a ton of that stuff is a considered "hazing". It's dumb.

The whole media portrayal of frat kids as thinking they're above the law is pretty ridiculous. Most are decidedly middle or upper middle class and pretty well aware of it.

The result of his death was not because he was ordered to do something. Him drinking it is resulted in his death. I don't support Greeks or not support them, but if someone wanted me to do something that I didn't want to do or may kill me, I would have found a door that leaves the room they are in.

This can be true and still get a negligent homicide conviction. Max Gruver is dead because he made the choice to keep drinking, but the actions of Naquin and the entire "bible study" idea as a whole is the reason why he made his choice. Gruver would still be alive today if he had made a better choice, but its also fair to say he wold likely be alive today if not for the actions of Naquin.

Should it be a crime to tell someone they have to suck your dick to get a job?

Making a living and joining a private club are not the same thing.

Never forget the time an entire Frat locked themselves in a bar (owner was a legacy) to avoid an arse whipping at the hands of my College Baseball team. Good times and the only memory I have of Frat Boys

Maybe the only thing douchier than guys who take their fraternities too seriously are college baseball players.

Wut? You don’t have to suck a dick for a job if you don’t want to

And you should pray to the high heavens that someone tells you you need to suck their dick to keep your current job

He was passed out due to being both high and drunk and basically choked to death.

Think the chugging of everclear was 99.99 percent of the reason he died.

Off topic what’s the latest on the frat daddy who beat the homeless man to death in Nola last year

Not sure what his status is right now. He was released from jail initially, after posting a $250K bond but charges were upgraded and he was arrested again with a bond of $1 million.

Can't find anything further on the case.

I see I struck a sensitive frat nerve here. Was your dad or uncle one of the sissies involved or was it you?

I often think back on my college days and cant help but wonder what it would have been like to be accepted into a Fraternity instead of being a Division 1 Athlete on scholarship.

Private members have an exclusive right to reject anyone for any reason. That's not legally true for employers.

still see him at the gym daily, I'd imagine they're just trying to delay that trial for as long as possible

anyway, naquin does come off as a try too hard. Took his role in a nerd frat too seriously

Why? Like any fraternity would let a huge fricking douche like you in anyway.
