Pretty sure there was zero evidence that Naquin (or anyone) held Gruver down and poured alcohol down his throat.
Again, people are getting hung up on physical force. Should it be a crime to tell someone they have to suck your dick to get a job?

Are you trying to argue that getting into a fraternity is a crime?
Sodomy is illegal in most states
I get what you’re saying, but when someone dies, especially a high profile drinking death, people are going to get charged
Why are bartenders held liable for over-serving. Are they to make sure every single person they serve drinks to doesn’t get behind the wheel?

The pledge kid died because of marijuana construction.
Pretty sure it was alcohol poisoning.

Didn’t they not bring him to the hospital for a while, and then just dumped him off?

Could the kid just have said no thanks and walked away
You don't do what they tell you to do, you pay worse consequences
I don't know the specifics of this case, but if a jury found the kid guilty, he must have fricked up pretty bad

Yet they still look for someone to pin this on. Why?
So if we caught 1 terrorist on 9/11, we should have let the rest go?

The dead kid's family doesn't give a shite.
I don't give a shite.
Other people don't give a shite.
As long as he has breath in his body, he has more opportunity than the dead kid has right now.

All the kid had to do was not accept the parameters of joining a private club and walk away
He held 100% control of his life
He held 100% control of his life

If there was physical force he would have been charged with 2nd degree or manslaughter.

You're really horrible at analogies.

Then ordered a kid to take a 10s chug of everclear resulting in his death.
So he couldn't say no? I order you to lay down on I10. Now that you must to do that since it was an order from someone with no authority over you; I guess I should be expecting an indictment in the next 48 hours or so. Nice knowing you, bubba.

Dizz posted this in the other thread:
And the definition of negligent homicide:
Telling someone they have to drink everclear for 10 seconds at a time, 5 to 6 times (this is from testimony, I'm not making this up), is "below the standard of care expected to be maintained by a reasonably careful man under like circumstances." Physical force doesn't matter.

The criminal negligence definition may help some try to digest this case: Criminal negligence exists when, although neither specific nor general criminal intent is present, there is such disregard of the interest of others that the offender's conduct amounts to a gross deviation below the standard of care expected to be maintained by a reasonably careful man under like circumstances
And the definition of negligent homicide:
quote:
2006 Louisiana Laws - RS 14:32 — Negligent homicide
§32. Negligent homicide
A. Negligent homicide is the killing of a human being by criminal negligence.

The man said one of the parties was punished, so why go after another party. It’s exactly the same
Your only argument would be that we didn’t catch them before 9/11

I was hazed back the day, and I hazed. For the record said hazing was both in a fraternity at LSu and later in the military. Both served their purpose - neither to the extreme... At NO TIME did anyone encourage, require or force me to consume and alcohol or drugs. At no time did anyone physically harm me.

its like playing a drinking game and the guy going for glory drinks too much and dies, and the hot chick, that everyone wants to bag, is convicted for pouring the drinks

I meant “constriction.” Typo. He was passed out due to being both high and drunk and basically choked to death.
The kid was a frickup who got blackout drunk every day of the week and never went to class and should never have gotten a bid from the fraternity.
