The answer is 15...the cheeseburger represents 5, the bear mug represents 1 and the bear bottle represents 10. Multiplication takes priority so it would be 10x1=10+5=15

There is only one answer to this problem. I'm not catering to idiots trying to justify their stupidity. That's how you end up with Hillary Clinton.

X1=bottle
X2=burger
X3=image of 1 beer mug
X4=image of 2 beer mugs
The only way you can solve it is by assuming that 2*X3=X4, yet that equation was not given as part of the original three.

I don't agree to disagree. You are wrong. The mugs are even the exact same size. There is no possible argument you can make to justify your position anymore.
I am not wrong. You are just being extremely obtuse and/or don't understand how higher level math variables work. You continually are just making an assumption on the value of one mug. Whatever man. Keep being your usual dick self.

17?
Bottles worth 10
Burgers worth 5
Mugs worth 2
Unless this is a trick.

in order to get the correct answer you are performing a logical math problem inside of the physical math problem which is really stupid
It uses inconsistent reasoning as a device to throw in a trick. Kind of silly.

Nope. There is just a different quantity. They are the exact same picture of the exact same object. You're trying too hard.

Let's call the bottles x, the hamburgers y, and the mugs z.
These then are the first 3 equations:
3x = 30
x + 2y = 20
y + 2z = 9
Solve for the value of a bottle (x) using the first equation:
x = 30 / 3
x= 10
Now that x is known, we can solve for the value of a hamburger (y) using the second equation:
10 + 2y = 20
y = 10 / 2
y = 5
Now that X and y are known, we can solve for the value of a mug (z) using the third equation:
5 + 2z = 9
z = 4 / 2
z = 2
So
x = 10
y = 5
z = 2
And solving the fourth equation using operator precedence (parenthesis added for clarity):
5 + (2 * 10) = 25
exactly why I posted what I posted
In order to create what LNCHBOX is saying, you have to make a logic step out of algebra and actually break down z a little more, which is really dumb
10 + 2y = 20
y = 10 /2
y = 5
--
Up to this point the pictures were the pictures, so there was no altering of anything, and it was what it is... but z
It's actually:
5 + 2z = 9
z = 4/2
z = 2 where z = 2 Jugs of Beer
5 + ((2/2) * 10) = 15
It's really bad logic's, but I think this stupid click bait was meant to be that way

They're nothing high level about this. You're over complicating it.

You are missing a multiplication symbol. Also, the trick is that they use 2 mugs when it is first presented and 1 mug in the last equation.
Posted on 11/18/16 at 10:20 am to ell_13
With letters:
A + A + A = 30
A + B + B = 20
B + 2C + 2C = 9
B + C x A = ?
3A = 30
A = 10
10 + 2B = 20
B = 5
5 + 4C = 9
C = 1
So... 5 + 1 x 10 = 15
A + A + A = 30
A + B + B = 20
B + 2C + 2C = 9
B + C x A = ?
3A = 30
A = 10
10 + 2B = 20
B = 5
5 + 4C = 9
C = 1
So... 5 + 1 x 10 = 15

You are making an assumption which does not equal mathematical certainty.
Gun to your head and you had to give the correct answer or you die:
A. 60
B. 25
C. 15
D. None of the above.
