For what it is worth, I stayed in the Mandalay less than a year ago. I locked myself out of my room and called security from a phone in the hallway. They confirmed what I was wearing via camera and security was there to unlock my door in less than 5 min.
I find these 6 min claims fairly hard to believe. Also, I am very certain that hallway cameras do exist.
For those saying that it is impossible to get 23 guns and ammo into the room without being noticed, think about this: Below is a random bag I found and I provided specs on it. Based on those specs it is VERY easy to fit 8 guns per bag, with extra room likely. Add in two extra of these bags for ammo/magazines/extras. Five bags gets him fully geared up.
So, these simple roller bags would weigh 100-120lbs max. Not so unreasonable now is it? He could do this alone in 2-3 trips.

I'm the opposite.
All of those guns he bought legally and registered in his name. It more shows me he's either an unhinged psycho or he was radicalized somehow.

Just saw this story come across my notification.
I bet this was his escape plan. He was going to use the explosions to distract law enforcement.
quote:
(CNN)Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock fired special "incendiary" bullets at a 43,000-barrel fuel tank in what investigators believe was an attempt to cause an explosion, two law enforcement sources told CNN.
Those types of rounds, meant to ignite what they hit, were found inside Paddock's room at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino and near the fuel tank a short distance away on the grounds of McCarran International Airport, the sources said.
Authorities have previously disclosed that Paddock fired at the tank and struck it with two rifle rounds, when he opened fire on the crowd below from his 32nd floor hotel room on October 1. They have not disclosed that he used incendiary rounds to fire at the tank, which contains jet fuel.

Would have been better to shoot tanks first
People would have then been running away from tank fire towards mandalay bay

Maybe he tried shooting the tanks first and that was the couple of shots heard earlier before the rapid firing in some of the videos.

The thought crossed my mind. But people were already running before Aldean started the second song. So someone had been shot already.
I think he was confirming how high he needed to shoot.
Even though they said he had a firing notes on 60 minutes.
Which, btw, the sheriff walked back yesterday.
Lombardo said he wasn't at liberty to say what was on the note. Even though the officers had said what they saw on it when interviewed by 60 minutes.
Sounds like the numbers might be more significant than previously thought.

I've been to Vegas several times, even staying in Mandalay Bay multiple times. Going back and forth to my room multiple times a day at various times, I almost never encountered someone in my hallway. In fact, I actually found it odd how few people I saw in my hallway at 4 different casino/resorts.
I seem to encounter people all the time in the hallway, I've never stayed at Mandalay though. Visit Vegas a couple times a year and mostly stay at Wynn,Palazzo or Cosmo. I"m on the move a lot and always see people in the hallway going or coming to my room. It's just hard to believe 200 rounds were fired in the hallway and nobody noticed...maybe?

People did run and hide by those tanks, so he may have been trying to kill all of them that way, since he couldn't shoot at them accurately from that far away.

Why only shoot it twice?
More shite that is not logical.

And we are not getting another press conference until Friday
I mean, how could they already know they won't have any pertinent info before then?
Do the video editors have a deadline of Thursday evening or something?

Every inch of that place has a camera in common areas. That security guard getting hit has to have video.

Seems like a complete clusterfrick but hopefully I'm wrong and a master plan is revealed later.
The only think I think we can say for certain is its more complicated than some guy going crazy and solo shooting up people for no reason.

This is a great interview done this morning on KNPR's "State of Nevada" show. The Undersheriff answers all kinds of questions from conspiracies to rumors and the timeline of events. I highly recommend a listen.

I just started listening and my question about the second room was answered. There is an adjoining doorway between the rooms and they found a single action rifle in that room.

Once he pulls the trigger the first time his brain likely went to some degree of chaos where planning/common sense won't match action

Good info. A lot don't and that's definitely a reasonable point to discuss

Thanks man. Best information so far.
The guy "sounds" genuine for sure.

Honestly, I was pleasantly surprised by how calmly he addressed each question/rumor. Internally, he has to be pulling his hair out.

He said there wasn't a second shooter, which most of us believed. He never said anything about an accomplice though. Also, the timeline still doesn't make much sense if you piece together all of the current official information.
Also, it's obvious the FBI is handling these guys, and there are still 2 things from yesterday's presser that muddies the water.
A) Lombardo being asked how many cell phones Paddock had, Lombardo then asking the FBI agent if he can give out that info, the agent answering "I don't believe its prudent we give out that information", and then Lombardo answering the question by saying "I don't know how many cell phones Paddock had".
That's just an odd exchange.
B) Lombardo walking back what information was on the note by saying "I'm not at liberty to discuss that" when asked about it.
