I doubt it, because you can hear the crack of the bullet breaking the sound barrier. You wouldn't hear that if he was only firing in the hotel.
Also, people had already started running BEFORE the first "full auto" volley. So they knew someone had been shot before the volley.

Shot Guard got shot before they though.. Plus the dude had a drill in the room.. drilling holes how does people on that floor don't hear a freaking a drill and report it too the desk.

Well, at this point even I will agree it's odd we aren't hearing more solid facts with regards to even the most basic stuff (timeline for instance should be easy to present accurately within a day or so)

Anybody else think Sheriff Lombardo looked nervous as hell in today's presser? He was constantly stumbling over his words, and being even more careful about his wording than last week.
He sounded more nervous today, than he sounded in the 2 days after the shooting. When he should have been far more tired and stressed.

Only a guess, but I would think that high rollers that can stay on that hall are either at the concert or a show or gambling at 10pm.

Yes and timeline had to be adjusted to say he arrived on 25th instead of 28th... because info was leaked from people at hotel saying the guys car was in valet on 25th and room service receipt from 27th..
So ask yourself: why would they lie about the day he checked into the hotel and then maintain said lie for over a week?? That is the easiest info to verify in this case.

I've seen a couple of articles mention the five million number in 2015 with the twin caveats that:
1) That was his total income for the year, including his properties and investments

Fox just reported that Paddock shot Security guard BEFORE he started shooting at concert goers. It was 6 minutes after he shot guard before he started. Questions now as to why it took so long for LEO to pinpoint him. Entire timeline has now been changed.
