Let's just say a cop was there with a competition sniper rifle. He sees his neighbor, who is a world champion sharpshooter in the crowd. He has shot a few thousand rounds with his champion neighbor and knows he is a badass, out to about a mile.
He is still not going to let him take that shot. He would be fired and probably they would both be arrested. There are also too many factors beyond liability that quell any talk of this scenario ever happening.
What if his neighbor was also a cop like Dan Bilzerian is?

What kills me is that all the lights at the concert lit up once the shooting started..And yea maybe it was to give the concertgoers an advantage to see where they were going but it definitely gave the shooter way more of an advantage, or maybe the person running the lights flipped out and when he ran hit the all lights on buttom
My assumption is that those were automatic lights.

Well is Dan Bilzerian POST certified?
I would bet not. He's no more trained or qualified than the admin people at the sheriffs office. They are technically cops, but they cant carry weapons.

He probably shouldnt have said anything to begin with, but then Dan spread his wifes phone number out to everyone and now he is pissed.
They are both acting childish right now.

I don't believe that for one second. If there were shooters on the ground we would have all known that immediately.
Exactly

He has over 500 days of SEAL training....I would say he is a little more trained and qualified.

according to police radio traffic they did know that immediately. I dont claim to know one way or another but there were some credible reports right away.

Sorry to deviate from the DanB discussion...but I figured with plenty of time to kill waiting for new evidence and all...
I find it kinda fascinating that (on the surface at least) - this guy managed to support himself to a fairly high degree as a professional VIDEO POKER PLAYER (CNN story w/video).
I never really considered there were professional gamblers outside of the table/card games. Video poker is EXTREMELY anti-social - so that fits with the solitary/privacy-obsessed aspects of his personality.
As far as insight into the mindset of professional gamblers in general - I found this very interesting:
"WHY DO I CHOOSE THIS FOR A LIVING?" PRETTY GOOD E8 Youtube link to video podcast by Jon Bois (long-form sports journalist for SI and SB Nation). All his stuff is fantastic and it plays like a VICE segment.

Yeah, since this happened I've read a few of the articles that people have written over the past week about video poker culture (which I didn't even know was a thing) and some of it has been kind of fascinating.

Seems next to impossible to be a professional video poker player. Its a computer software designed for the odds to be against you. The more frequent you play the more those odds will be realized. Maybe the guy has connections and gets tips on what machines get hot and when, if there is such a thing.
Now in regular poker, the human element comes into play and you can definitely be better than the other guys.

According to some of the articles, two things worked in his favor.
1) Some of the machines had up to 99.5% payout if you listened to the recommendations on which cards to keep and hold. However, if you went against the machines and dropped low paying pairs and went for, say, a flush, it paid off more than it would in real life so pros were able to shave the odds a touch in their favor. Vegas didn't care because the 100 other idiots more than covered one big winner.
2) He played so much and bet so high that he was getting comps that more than made up for the potential .5% he may have dropped.
This was 80's, 90's and early first decade, though. Supposedly, Vegas caught on eventually and tightened both the machines and comps for people that may have bet big but didn't lose big.

This guy wasn't you and your buddies dropping 500 at craps and trying to cojole the pit boss for free buffet passes.
He approached it a little differently.

Did not know he was a cop. Does he have any authority in that jurisdiction? If so, he still would have had to been cleared from higher ups to take a shot.
Posted on 10/9/17 at 3:54 pm to Walking the Earth
Yeah and arent a lot of comps given electronically, so that if he bet big, they would just be added to his player card?
Posted on 10/9/17 at 4:00 pm to yurintroubl
Y’all should go read up on who Dan Bilzerians dad is then decide whether or not he made his fortune on poker.
Watch when he was on Joe Rogan podcast. He lies his arse off through that entire podcast.

Why is there so little info about this guy's past? Surely there were signs that this guy was a crazy mofo about to commit mass murder? At least they found a better picture of him rather than that closed eyes drunk face they had for the first few days.
The one of him bleeding on the carpet is the best BTW.
