I would think the odds of them getting killed by a maniac in the next room letting off hundreds and hundreds of rounds is much higher than an errant round from a sniper trying to take that maniac out...

It's pretty sad that people have to purposely say outlandish things just to have someone respond to them. Great job a retarded monkey could do that.
What's more depressing is some are actually dumb enough to believe some of these "investigative" opinion videos and come into this thread like Dick frickin Tracy thinking theyre bringing some compelling points. fricking trash.

Have we had any Sandy Hook types come in here yet and either say the mass shooting didn't happen or that it was orchestrated by the government to gain support to eventually confiscate guns?

The Dan B. scenario is idiotic and I have a wee bit of experience in the area.
OK idiot cop hands me a rifle and says have at it. So now I have an unknown firearm and optics that I just now even know the caliber of. I have no clue as to the ballistic characteristics of the ammo. How do I even begin to dope my scope? I am in the middle of what is essentially an ambush, I have to range at night with no previous recon, unless there is a flag or banner on the top of the hotel I have no idea about wind 400 ft up around the building, I'm doing trig in my head and worst of all I have no spotter to help identify my splash and walk me in. Oh and I am doing all this with a cold bore. If I get a round close then the shooter can move to the other window, do I sit on that window or do I shift and start over? That scenario is a shite show.
A sniper team would have a good chance with their own equipment, especially if they had some elevation instead of being ground level but DB was just looking for a lucky "hero" shot.

Let's just say a cop was there with a competition sniper rifle. He sees his neighbor, who is a world champion sharpshooter in the crowd. He has shot a few thousand rounds with his champion neighbor and knows he is a badass, out to about a mile.
He is still not going to let him take that shot. He would be fired and probably they would both be arrested. There are also too many factors beyond liability that quell any talk of this scenario ever happening.

Not gonna lie.....that does sound like 2 different weapons. And maybe like one still firing when the other started.
I’m not ready to put my tin foil hat on though.
