Asking questions is what we are supposed to do and things really don't line up. Not asking questions would be irresponsible. Anyone that thinks an AR has any deal of accuracy at that distance is crazy. I think this guy was involved but he was not the only person

You didn’t ask a question. You said an AR couldn’t be accurate at 400 yards.

That is a ridiculous statement for a number of reasons.

The first is that he didn’t need to to accurate.

Another is that an AR at 400 yards is a nail gun

lol what? AR not ak you idiot, and yes you are being an idiot here. Some of those better AR's he was using have fantastic accuracy to the point of being comparable to bolt action hunting rifles.

Same platform as a M16 where 18 year old men and women shoot at a 5 ft target 500 yds away from in Marine Corps Recruit Training.

He obviously wanted to kill as many people as possible, nut the fact that he was stopped in 11 minutes says he put very little thought into concealing his location to give as much time as possible to shoot, it was not a complex plan.

Little thought? He planned enough to use multiple surveillance cameras, obviously the weapons modified for the purpose and a hammer and tape for breaking the windows. And that's just what we know of so far.

Appears that the thing that gave away his position early was he didn't account for the smoke setting off an alarm.

I understand the basic human need that we all have to try to find reason, any reason, for what would cause a person to do this. This is an inherit flaw of any rational person: you think everyone else is also rational.

I have a question, and while it's importance is up for debate, I find the sheer lack of info on Paddock as odd.

We know he had three jobs. The last being an internal auditor for a defense contractor.

Wouldn't this suggest he had at least a degree past a high school diploma? No yearbook photos from either college or high school yet?

It seems like if someone remembered him from school they would fork over a yearbook or something for $$$ by now.

Also, the 200+ rounds being fired out of the door makes more sense if he was exchanging gunfire.

The doors appear to only have about a dozen or so holes in them, so...

You've never fired an AR pattern rifle have you? In the military I could repeatedly hit a man size target at 300 yards through open sights WITH A GAS MASK ON.

It would be hard to miss a packed crowd 400 yards away. This wasn't a feat of marksmanship by any means. Max effective range on 5.56 is 460 meters (that's what it was when I was in but we were still shooting 55 grain rounds).

They did say he had a video camera inside the room. All they said about it was that it wasn't broadcasting anywhere

The sheriff today clearly stated that the video equipment was not recording anything, it showed it at the time, like a baby camera, but didn't record anything.

May or may not be lieing about that, or this gay may be wrong. Regardless the police know why this happened, and it should be released.

No cops were on the 32nd floor when he stopped shooting. They were there a few minutes later. Team of four cops were in the stairwell between the 31st and 32nd floor at 11 minutes 18 seconds into the broadcastify recording, which was after he stopped shooting. They were the first cops to go onto the 32nd floor.

Started shooting at 10:05 as per sheriff. Broadcastify started recording at 10:08. He stopped shooting at 10:15 as per the sheriff. Broadcastify had team of four cops in the stairwell at 10:19:18.

If there were 200+ rounds fired through the door, they all went at the security guard, because Paddock was dead by then.

Aside from the smoke alarm, the sound of the gunfire would be heard throughout the hotel, having to break out two large windows was going to attract attention, witnesses said the first unusual thing they heard was breaking glass in that direction. He literally put no planning into concealing his location to maximize shooting time. He had 50ibs of Tannerite and 1600 more rounds of ammo in his car unutilized, he didn't get to use it because he had no real tactical plan.

There is a belief that he may have broken mentally in October of 2016, spurring the purchase of quite a few guns that month.

He was probably convinced that Clinton was going to become PotUS at this point and rapidly bought more guns because she would have taken his guns just like Obama did before her.

He wasn't any different than most 60 something year old guys. No history of violence or mental illness. Sure he had Valium prescribed in the past but who hasn't nowadays?
Part of me thinks he was radicalized by something or somebody. Or maybe he hated the casino so badly he wanted to scar it and the city forever.

The video links in the article are pretty hard to dismiss that there was another shooter. Also, I find it hard to believe that this guy could hit anything with an AR-15 at over 400 yards away. There is more to this than we are being told.

From what I can find the maximum effective range at a point target is 400-600 meters and 600-800 meters at an area target. Can't find a hard number (someone please post if they know) but a crowd at 400 yards is certainly within range.
