No, compared to what this guy did it was more complicated, the guy bought 33 weapons and ammo over 16 months or something like that, and booked a hotel room he knew would give him a vantage point over a advertised outdoor event. What little planning he did was not even very good, he could have killed hundreds with a fraction of the hardware he hauled up to the room, and he was caught in 11 minutes, everything he did indicates not much of a plan.

Thanks. This is the first i have heard that the shooter was ever engaged.

The video links in the article are pretty hard to dismiss that there was another shooter. Also, I find it hard to believe that this guy could hit anything with an AR-15 at over 400 yards away. There is more to this than we are being told.

Other people are describing his planning as meticulous, so it's funny how people see it all differently.

22,000 people crammed into a 2 acre space, how could ne not hit anything.

They'll wall it up just out of respect for the victims. That room was probably rarely occupied by a paying guest and they have plenty of other suites they can put players in.

Serious question. If you are Mandalay Bay what do you do with this suite? Empty it and cover it with wall? I can't imagine anyone will every stay in that room again.
Seems like some notorious places remain, others get razed. Like it was mentioned earlier, this room was probably a very expensive suite of over $1000 / night (although it was often comped to high rollers, I'm sure).
Gonna be a tough call for MB folks regardless. Do you want to still make the money? or cover it up?
I think the best move is to rip up the insides and redesign the entire suite, change the room number, and start renting out the suite again. In the long run, people will have a more difficult time recalling this being the room of the deadly shooting. I mean what do the people who are staying in the 31st or 33rd floor suite thinking?

First I've heard about any "exchange" of gunfire with him--- according to sheriff at press conference tonight, the guards and officers entered the hallway and began sweeping and clearing the other rooms before blowing open the door and finding him already dead...
From what I understand, he sprayed the door/ hallway and hit the lone MB security guard in the leg and then shortly after, shot himself... maybe I'm missing something though

the FBI guy on cnn just now said verbatim that it was "meticulously planned"

I feel like plenty of people would want to stay in it. The problem for Mandalay is do they want the suite being stayed in for macabre reasons?
They should gut it have it just be an empty space that looks nice.

This is what i heard. Why 200 rounds? Doesnt make sense. especially if he could see out in the hall way.

This shite needs to stop.
How many rounds have you put through an AR?

He obviously wanted to kill as many people as possible, nut the fact that he was stopped in 11 minutes says he put very little thought into concealing his location to give as much time as possible to shoot, it was not a complex plan.

Yeah, he explicitly said officers never fired a single shot at Paddock. This refutes that completely. Also, the 200+ rounds being fired out of the door makes more sense if he was exchanging gunfire.
Makes me wonder if they don't want us to know they retaliated.

holy shite that zero hedge article is possibly the dumbest thing I've ever read. Christ Almighty, talk about lowest common denominator....

Asking questions is what we are supposed to do and things really don't line up. Not asking questions would be irresponsible. Anyone that thinks an AR has any deal of accuracy at that distance is crazy. I think this guy was involved but he was not the only person.
Posted on 10/4/17 at 10:48 pm to Landmass
he wasn't aiming at individuals...there was a group of people the size of a couple football fields.
Posted on 10/4/17 at 10:52 pm to Scoop
They could gut the inside and turn it into a victims' memorial but it seems like even that would be pretty macabre

The same FBI that looked for the UniBomber for 20 years and only found him because his brother told them who he was, or 10 years to find Whitey Bulger, but only because someone called them up to tell them where he was, that the BR serial killer was definitely a white guy, that ignored tips about the Boston Bomber brothers.

Just watched a video of someone saying there was another shooter Aria Hotel. In the video it seems to me the popping noise is coming from a dude running in flip flops. Aria Hotel
