Assuming I understand this correctly, this may be the most reasonable thing I've seen you post in this thread.

You understand it correctly. Objectively speaking, you've been unreasonable and defensive with every poster who does not let "the process" play out.

After learning this I now feel like he worked alone, because that's a retarded plan. The cops were at the hotel with what, 10 minutes of the shooting, I doubt he would have been able to get to his car. Unless he wanted to shoot at his car?

Runs out the door in 8 mins without any guns or gear and he potentially gets to a car. No long term getaway but in the chaos of 22k festival goers, 3500 hotel rooms and random people in the casino/street....

But as Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan til they get hit in the mouth and that first bullet fired had to be a huge impact on his own psyche. No going back, life in prison or death being certain.

He had way more ammo to last longer than 8 minutes in his room

One thing I'm surprised we haven't heard is stories from any guests who were on floor 32 at the time of the shooting. Maybe they were all out on the town since it is vegas, but surely there was somebody on that floor at the time.

Interesting footnote was that the hotel room door was ajar when the security guard arrived, and that keyed him in on that room. Weird stuff

Ehhh means that they’re still looking for an accomplice and don’t want to give that potential person any leads or indication about their knowledge

lets be honest here.

if this guy was just a deranged old man who acted alone, they would have said so by now.

At some level that's the hardest outcome to prove and present. You have to thoroughly eliminate a huge volume of other stuff. If he were isis or on crazy militia websites it's easy to throw out there. To say he's just an angry old dude is hard to say at a press conference in the first day or two.

I mean they could also hint at it to throw off leads

I think they've made it clear they're going to investigate this to the fullest extent, wherever that may lead. Of course there are facts that are known only to the investigation, but that makes perfect sense when you're admittedly still exhausting leads.

I guess I fail to see what people really expect out of the sheriff/FBI. The FBI is super tight lipped, but the sheriff has been pretty candid and even gives his own personal opinions/theories when he deems necessary. They're quite obviously still investigating people/facts. Spilling their guts to us does nothing to help their cause.

To clarify, your position is that you think his accomplices aren’t already on the run or in hiding? That’s what you think? By saying they are still tracking all leads, that gives him reassurance? By telling us nothing at all he feels safe and thus will be able to be captured?

Sunday's a big check out day. I'd imagine a lot of the people still checked in to the hotel were there for the festival.

indeed.

the sheriff says, "do you think this was all accomplished on his own....?...face value? you gotta make the assumption that he had some help at some point"

THAT is the takeaway that you are rolling with from my post? Clearly my point was if he walks out the door 2 minutes before police show up its real hard to stop him getting to the ground floor - not that he knew he had exactly 8 minutes and that was his plan.

Exactly. I'm not sure rocket thought that statement through.

To definitively say something did NOT happen, in a situation such as this, you have to exhaust countless leads.
