quote:Who are his likely accomplices is the question. A 64 year old isn't gonna have that many other old guys to hang around with and talk about killing a bunch of people. If he was hanging around younger guys, one of them would've probably done it. Doesn't seem like the type to be hanging around a bunch of mooslims either. He just seems like a gun collector that snapped one day for reasons unknown right now.
future charges being brought against other people.
The gf seems like the key to everything. If he was psychotic and talking about it, she would've known. They aren't able to hide their feelings without saying something. If you are mad about something and close to other people, you are going to tell them. She could've been an accomplice for all I know

Is she?
What has she done/said that leads people to believe she's a radical?
No and nothing. That would have to be proven true for any of this to stay together, unless there is some other connection she has (maybe family) if she is not radical. It gets pretty unbelievable at that point.

Oh, I thought you said you believed in that theory.

Something tells me we will hear about some things tonight. They just needed to make sure they had access to her first.

The OweO version:

The ISIS thing makes me laugh. I can be completely wrong, but I would be the farm that ISIS had absolutely nothing to do with this. ISIS is as weak as they have ever been so they look for anything to take credit for to show they are still a threat.
And then, fact.... LINK
quote:
"We have not been able to find a real lie from ISIS," said Katz, who follows the group's social media obsessively with a critical eye. "Despite the fact that they are a terrorist organization, they want to provide their followers and supporters with authentic information."
Joscelyn said he can't think of an example of an outright false claim by ISIS in the U.S. and western Europe. There are plenty of exaggerations — on death tolls, for instance — and the statements shouldn't be assumed to be true. (For instance, the ISIS claim for the attack on a concert in Manchester didn't describe a suicide bomber, and had slightly inflated numbers of the dead and wounded.)

The Shaky State Of The Islamic State
But in the West, "when ISIS claims something ... usually there's something there," Joscelyn said.
Hmmmmmm....wonder which one I should trust????
And I provide you with this..
quote:
The FBI said Monday there is "no connection" between international terrorist groups and the gunman who killed 59 people and injured at least 527 more in Las Vegas Sunday night, pushing back on the Islamic State's claim that it had directed the deadly attack.
The Islamic State's unsubstantiated claim, released on Monday, didn't mention gunman Stephen Paddock by name, and came amid rampant speculation about the attacker's identity and motives.
So far, the ISIS claim has not held up to scrutiny, raising the question of why the terrorist group would claim responsibility for an attack it didn't commit.
For one, such a claim guarantees relevance for ISIS by keeping it in the news, terrorism expert Bruce Hoffman told Business Insider.
"There is a long history of terrorists trying to elbow themselves into the limelight and milk some horrible tragedy to claim some credit for themselves," said Hoffman, who serves as Georgetown University's director of security studies.

I think this guy's motive will ultimately be well known.
I fricking hope so. Based on what we know now, (prior to his hellish atrocities), he's the guy most men would resemble their life after. Money, traveler, multiple houses, Asian gf, no responsibilities in his 60s. His only concern was what casino to play and whether it was steak or lobster night, or both. The American dream basically. It's confusing as shite for now and I hope it's something other than him popping too many meds, because I don't see how we recognize or prevent the next one. I can't get that video out of my head that was posted last night. Terrible and never needs to happen again.

That whole gun collector thing sounds fishy to me. He got like 35 of the 42 guns just in the last year.
A gun collector goes 60 years with ~7 guns and then buys 30 more in a year?

After reading all of these posts I have concluded the following....
25% really know what they are talking about
50% don't have a clue and don't realize that they dont have a clue, so they post anyway.
The other 25% should strongly consider seeing a shrink.

Don't know.
The way the sheriff said things yesterday in his afternoon press conference led me to believe that he knew somethings about motive and possible accomplice(s.
You can be sure that anyone who was an accomplice didn't just come forward and say that they helping him.

Do we know when the month he bought the first of the recent ones?
Posted on 10/4/17 at 1:06 pm to TigerFred
The FBI says they are absolutely confident that the planning took over 2 months. So they have that process nailed down pretty good. Now, to just find out Marilou's story of the last 2 months. If they catch her lying (which I can almost guarantee she will), they can charge her.
We don't, but the FBI/ATF probably does through their traces.

While I agree on the Asian thing, most prefer an attractive Asian.
Seriously, why does everyone want a well established motive? Why can't it just be something some sick frick decided to do for only reasons he could understand (in his sick mind)? I guess no one wants to think that at any time some sick dickhead can plan and carry out an attack like this guy did, but in reality it can happen at any time... anywhere. And to a certain degree there are things you just can't prevent. Like a tornado. All of a sudden they appear, wreck shite up and they are gone.
Did James Holmes have a motive when he shot up the movie theater in Colorado?
I mean, the government can somehow come up with a way to take every gun out of the US an air tight system on preventing them from coming into the country, but since that isn't at all reasonable, it's just something that will happen from time to time.
