meh, even if its an irrational motive, i still think there's always some way some how to get to a motive.

Girlfriend came home from the Philippines in a wheelchair....will be interesting to hear what that could be about. Mental stress has her worn out? CIA beat her up? She's playing the frail old woman card?

Well I'm not convinced that he's criminally mentally ill at all. By definition, the person would not appreciate the nature or quality or wrongfulness of the acts.
Do you honestly believe that this guy didn't appreciate the nature, and quality? And didn't believe what he was doing was wrong?
If he did, then he in fact was not criminally mentally ill.

I think it was either the FBI's way of protecting her OR they wanted to put her into custody without letting the media find out.

No, but then again, I am one of the Abu Sayyaf/ISIS conspiracy theorists

Yes, hard to walk with cuffs and not have it known, but you can throw a blanket over her in the wheelchair. Imagine you'll initially see her with a bullet proof vest when we do.

What's up with that theory?

No
Well, I don't believe for a second that this guy didn't know what he was doing was wrong. And even specifically planned to obtain the highest quality and nature of murder.

If true, that would seem to be even more of an argument that he wasn't criminally insane. I'm trying to understand specifically your reasoning for thinking that he was criminally mentally ill.

-Abu Sayyaf is a muslim terrorist group since the 70s in the Philippines.
-They are pledged to ISIS in the grand scheme of things.
-Killer's lady is a Filipina woman (w/Australian citizenship as well) who has travelled the world and been a high stakes poker hostess in places like Dubai, where money to finance terrorism freely flows.
-She is radical, and gets with this apple pie American guy to turn on his country and commit an act in their name

I don't. I was answering the original question simply that a criminally insane person may not purposely leave their motive unknown.
I think this guy's motive will ultimately be well known.

Yeah, I'm thinking so too. If what Fred said is correct, then it sounds like the investigating authorities might be on to something. I sure hope so. I don't know why, but I really want to know the "why" behind this.
And I get it, some people are just evil, and there is a lot of evil in this world. No doubt, this guy is one of them. But to go to this extreme? There has to be more to it than he's just an evil dude.

This is Jack Beaton who was killed in the shooting. He looks like Ed Orgeron.

Marilou Danley landed at Los Angeles International Airport late Tuesday on a flight from her native Philippines and was quickly hustled off in a wheelchair by FBI agents.
There's also a video of her in the wheelchair on that link.
