Why did he have to fire that many?

I think we'll find that many of the 527 casualties are not necessarily from bullets. Lot of trampling and whatnot.

I would guess the CIA was knocking on the door of wherever she was in the Philippines yesterday, if they knew.
Now, with the reports of Tokyo, and then changed to the Philippines, she may have been trying to throw them off, in which case who knows if she would even come back.

Extraordinary Rendition. I'm pretty sure the CIA still remembers how it's done.

At a Tuesday afternoon press conference, Lombardo confirmed that Paddock had cameras set up inside and outside of his room - including one on the food service cart.

The cameras outside the room appear to have been used to warn Lombardo when police were outside. A source told the Washington Post that the cameras outside the room were connected to a tablet which streamed live footage of the hallway.

Lombardo refused to comment on whether the cameras inside the room were used by Paddock to capture the massacre.

If ever a case warranted it, a person helping ISIS shoot 500 Americans would be it.

One of the press conferences this afternoon

There has been no confirmation that he filmed himself in the hotel room.

ABC News also confirmedthat an “official said Paddock had a camera mounted in the room, apparently to record himself.”

A report from CNN notes that law enforcement officials “are not aware whether the devices were transmitting” during the shooting, but that officials confirmed that cameras were present inside the room.

Didnt think anyone said it was "confirmed".

The possibility was definitely introduced in a press conference by the sherriff though.

If he did, I doubt you will see that footage anytime soon

The guy recorded himself. Can't they at least give us something about the motive?

And they better capture that bitch. It's ridiculous it took her nearly 72 hours to get back. Unless you're in fricking Tristan da Cunha, I don't want to hear of it taking that long.

Possibly, but following that chain of responses insinuates it's been released as a fact. It has not.

It was a multibedroom suite with two shooting positions. Some of those guns throw brass 20+ feet, so my guess is it's just spread out over a large area. It's not a single hotel room we are talking about, it's like a 2000 sq foot type of room.

Didn’t want to spook her. Probably tailing her too to see if she did anything.

I read that there were approx. 12 extended rounds of gunfire. Presumably, he emptied a large capacity magazine each time. 60 rounds each? 100 rounds each? I don't know, so I ball parked a figure. But it doesn't seem unreasonable - with a dozen rifles and who knows how many pre-loaded magazines - to think he could have fired 80 or 100 rounds per minute over his 10 or 12 minute shooting spree.

I don't think he shot ~586 people. I expect many of the 527 injured were hurt in the ensuing chaos trying to escape. It wouldn't even surprise me if some of the dead weren't shot, but got crushed/asphyxiated by the mob trying to get away from the open area.

Question for y'all, what's has been said officially about the fire alarm going off? Does the alarm go off in the whole hotel? Lobby certainly didn't have any alarms going off when the cabbie was parked in the valet while he was shooting. Do strobe lights go off in room's and hallways didn't see that in any of videos when pan'd toward the room , how about sprinklers in the room or hall, does anything look wet? Just wondering what happened to the fire alarm talk.

The dailymail article you linked said the inside camera was looking through the peephole. No biggie, I just thought there was some facebook live stream they weren't telling us about.
