Well, hard for me to disagree with those credentials.

It just looks bigger/longer to me.

probably the perspective of the picture.

all of the airweight snub 357s from Smith have real sights, save for the 340 series, all of which have a matte grey finish

If she is in any connected to ISIS or the huge Islamic presence in Indonesia then she should be thankful that the good guys have her. Muslims treat their women poorly anyway.

And so since we know the shooting had ceased about an hour before SWAT entered the suite, imagine how much more carnage could have occurred had he not offed himself so soon.

I just watched a press conference, the Officer speaking said that regular LVPD that were on duty in the area had already organized a team and were advancing up the stairwell to the shooter during the active shooting. The point being even though not a SWAT team, law enforcement was only minutes away if the shooter had not stopped.

People who shoot guns for recreation and enjoyment like them. Not every firearm or accessory needs to have a legit reason for owning.

i shoot 15k-20k rounds per year and am very involved in the local training and competition circuits. nobody worth a shite has a slidefire.

that being said, i dont support banning anything. if something has to go, ill gladly give them up though

Thought it was report he was alive when they breached the room, retreated and shot himself?

It's been reported both ways.

They just said if the shooting had continued they would have went in.... they treated it like a barricade situation since no shots were being fired.

Don't be so obtuse

Why are they so hell bent on keeping everything a secret? Why do they care if the pictures are shown to the public of the hotel room? All they do is come back out every 2 hours and say, "its an ongoing investigation." I feel like the victims and the families have a right to know what the hell this guys motives were.

Hypothetical question for everyone: if you were in law enforcement and/or the military, and you could be the one to pull the trigger on OBL or Paddock, which one would you choose?

I'll jump in here. Regardless of what this guy had up there the conversion to full auto is not terribly challenging. A template to drill some holes and a lightning link and you are set as long as you can get a hold of an M16 bolt and carrier group.

The M16 internals are probably the only thing hard to get that require a license. If you're prepared to commit a felony the receiver mods and the lightning link are childs play for any competent fabricator.

Additionally, if you have enough money, legal full auto guns can be purchased that are pre-NFA. Now, one pre-NFA full auto M16 can fetch over $10k these days but they do exist.

Honestly, this guy could have wreaked just as much havoc with timed, well placed shots with proper optics and ranging in semi auto mode with any decent AR10 (308 caliber). It wouldn't have been as dramatic but the crowd wouldn't have dispersed as quickly if he would have shot one shot every 3 seconds or so. Also, not shooting as much would have delayed the smoke detectors which is what gave away his position.

I guess my point is that regardless of illegal guns, or legal guns, some nutcase can find a way especially if he is determined and patient.

Because there is a potentially pivotal person of interest that will be in the US in a few hours. It is an actual ongoing investigation, and if I was a family member of a victim, I'd rather them catch any and all involved than spout off a bunch of information just to satisfy John Q. Public.

They do and they will know when the investigation is further along. You do realize this is still an "ongoing crime" until they're positive they have everyone detained and no one else is involved? They're not to that point yet.

Exactly. This is a normal case. We're getting updates with quite a bit of information and the police haven't even interviewed his girlfriend in any thorough capacity yet.
