It didn't take 24hrs to know everything about the pulse nightclub shooter or about the perps in the Barcelona attack. Regardless, do you just want everyone to sit silent until info comes out? Is discussion not allowed?

Well, I don't think the Las Vegas shooter has the social media footprint that previous shooters have had in the past.

Also, maybe there just isn't a ton. If the dudes a bit reclusive and doesn't have a ton of friends or family. Has been retired so not a ton of recent coworkers.... maybe he's just been chilling with his wife a few years and playing poker and messing around with some guns in the desert. Surely we all know some boring old men without a lot of connections that might be into guns and/or gambling.

No online footprint at all, and his supposedly "dancer girlfriend" doesn't have one either. This still shouldn't hinder discussion, as a matter of fact you should expect more discussion because of this.

Oh, there's plenty to be found thus the delay of information. There is still a case to be built against him (and possibly others) and they're not going to jeopardize the case by releasing information too soon. Also, this was not done one a whim. There was a lot of planning involved over time. Investigators will put together that timeline of events and then they'll release the info.
There was months of planning on Paddock's part. He had to obtain weapons, ammo, explosives, luggage, probably stayed in the exact room prior to this stay, cased the venue, practice shooting his new weapons (probably on northern Nevada property), etc., etc.
I would expect a lot of additional info to be released today. I think they breached the northen Nevada property yesterday evening.

Since few facts are available the news is going with the human interest angle. They are interviewing people that were there and actual victims when they can.

My 66 year old dad has no social media footprint as he's never gotten on it.
He uses the Internet to do his taxes and books, some shopping, and his CE courses. (Doctor).
Some people could not care less what others are doing day to day nor care to share their private lives.
