Last time I was there was 2013 and it wasn’t considered a Black bar.

When did balcony bar go black? Went there occasionally 2005-2010ish and it was full of honkeys

Seemed to happen overnight maybe 6-7 years ago. There’s been attempts to…diversify they crowd another way that haven’t been too successful.

Maybe the Saints can spread some anti police messaging to help the small business owners that cater to tourism in NOLA.

Impose a cover charge. That will usually prevent some of the hood rats.

That’s a sure fire death knell for a NO bar - especially in that location.

This is the same crowd that has taken over the Bayou Beer Garden in the last couple years. BBG had a demographics change almost overnight.

People have sailed across oceans for a better life, yet festivals, parades, Saints games, and the fact six generations of your family went to the same parochial school somehow have some unbeatable magnetic pull that keeps you there. It’s truly sad the crap that many of you accept in your daily lives by living there.

I think the bar was dying so they broadened their customer base to survive.

20 years ago it was all uptown kids home from college.

Yeah it’s not even close really. Balcony has been a completely sketchy mix for a very long time. Unless something has radically changed since I was last there some months ago, BBG is not really sketch at all.

Balcony Bar should probably close for a few weeks and then reopen “re-invented” blaring country music. Get rid of the pool tables. No fruity mixed drinks of any kind just imported beers, wine, and whiskey.

Never heard of the Balcony Bar. What is their clientele there? Just curious what type of crowd!
