I just got some info from a friend that is decently high up @ one of the hospital's in Lafayette. The Shooter apparently showed up @ the hospital Wednesday & Thursday, asking the people @ the front desk if the security guards carried guns and if the hospital could handle a mass shooting.
quote:
I can't believe that. I seriously can't. Not unless there is photo/video evidence of him at that front desk for 2 consecutive days.
There are going to be reports of people thinking that they saw this guy in every fast food place and gun shop in the state.
It's going to be local 9-11 with people coming up with all kinds of crazy shite.

Well, according to Facebook, the guy lost his home (in georgia?) around March of 2014 and had to get rid of his cat.

just find it funny you keep yet you are insecure enough to carry a gun at all times and sit facing a door in a restaurant. Come on, guy. You're a walking hypocrite.
insecure? Beacuse i carry? I mean i have a carry license for a reason. To carry and protect myself and my family... when should i carry? When it looks like a bad place, because obviously bad things cant happen in good family safe areas like a movie theatre. And as far as how i sit in resturants, it has nothing to do with insecure dumbass, its from training, and being aware of your surroundings and whats going on around you. I dont sit and plot out a situation lololol

"....I think killing these guys is just what they want"
This is true. A guy I grew up with who was bipolar and was dealing with severe depression basically did this minus the violence. Went into a Dollar General in a very small town near our hometown. He brandished a gun and ordered everyone into the back office. He had zero intention of actually hurting anyone and didn't but he knew people concealed carried all over town and that he would be shot. Basically suicide by police officer. He couldn't pull the trigger on himself so he put himself in a situation where he would be killed by police. A regular citizen carrying a gun ending up shooting and killing him.

I truly wish people who have this urge would just shoot themselves and leave all the innocents alone.

I'm hurting for Lafayette today. I'm not native to Lafayette but I've called it home for the past few years and I quickly came to love it there. With as often as we see this kind of stuff, it almost becomes easy to become desensitized to it and just say "oh, thats sad." But it makes it all too real when the life of one of your fellow alumni is taken in a movie theater you've been to. We all think to ourselves "that would never happen here" but this gives me the sickening feeling that it absolutely can happen anywhere and destroy that peace of mind. Its surreal to me to see national news reporters camped out in front of familiar sites.
I'm so sad for Lafayette and the surrounding community but from living there I know that the people take a great pride in their city. This will only serve to tighten that sense of community and put on display the pride of being from Lafayette.

This isn't the north. There is a 99% chance westboro will be assaulted if they actually picket the funerals

I can't wait to see them get shut down by Lafayette. I bet they don't get a little toe into that city without being forcibly removed. People don't play that game down here.

quote:The he's a moron, because they always have police stationed at that theater. I go there all the time.
That would be shocking if it is confirmed this guy actually went in places scouting for hot spots for the maximum number of unarmed.
I think the bigger problem has to do with modern social alienation. This guy, by all accounts, was an aging "loser." Adam Lanza was a social pariah "loser." I think these people take account of their lives, see that society has rejected them and decide that being "evil" or "notorious" is better than being a loser. Evil gets remembered and is feared. Losers are forgotten long before they even die.
