I think if people in south Louisiana actually knew who was policing the streets the old meme of "the few bad ruin it for the good" would drop. Outside of State Police and the bigger departments, the average South La. cop rocked a 2.1 gpa in high school and can't run a mile.

The State Police were involved in a lot of corruption back from Edwards to Long. They were basically the State politicians strongarm.

Now you don't get in unless you have a college degree or military experience or both.

Yeah, I had a couple of friends who were with the Troopers in La. They were a cut above the local boys.

All of the LSP guys I know are top tier in the cop rating world. They all have pertinent college degrees, and most have military experience. They take their job and ethics very seriously, and want to keep their good reputation.
I do know one guy out of Kenner that is consistently an a-hole to everyone

To all the people defending the cops at the beginning of this thread, what do you have to say now? The story stunk from the beginning but just like the pit bull lovers, they jump in before any truth is known defending the police brotherhood. I for one am glad that the real truth is coming to the light. Maybe, and that's a big maybe, justice will be served. If the camera shows the child in plain view, and that is if. What should the penalty be?

I hope these guys are executed. They should be treated as common criminals, not given any sort of benefit of the doubt because they wore the badge of some 5th rate town police department.

The bootlickers all thought the child dying was a perfectly acceptable because the dad made the mistake and that he was ultimately responsible. If we follow their logic would they now be ok with society killing the children of the marshals as justice? They are criminals after all and they should know that there is a price to pay when you commit crimes.
(obviously I'm not recommending this. Just pointing out how flawed their BS "logic" is when the shoe is on the other foot)

The story was suspicious from the beginning. The picture of the crime scene didn't fit with the story as it was known. There are people who always defend cops, some who always are against the cops. I think this one was fairly easy to see through from the beginning though, should never have been defended.

I know one with a 4-year degree and that person isn't exactly what I would call intelligent. No military experience either.

Their story arose suspicion from me in the beginning.
Getting out and walking to the front of the vehicle? Have you ever seen an officer do that? No. They circle the vehicle.
I am not up to date on the facts but seeing how two are charged with murder I'm guessing something is seriously wrong.

A child was killed and it sounded like was actually struck with more bullets than the "suspect" and you still had dipshits on here suggesting this situation was likely "by the book" (Clientnumber9 was the poster I think). I get that the cops are ultimately a symptom of the police-state we have all grown to accept but allowing the citizenry to be divided against itself into groups of "lawful" and "unlawful" is so childish.

I've been following this thread and want to ask a question of those of y'all who live in Louisiana.
What's the deal with these marshals? From reading about this case, it seems like basically a street gang that declares territory and uses their "authority" to extort money from citizens by issuing citations.
Do all Louisiana cities/towns/parishes have these outfits?
How have citizens not demanded these groups be disbanded? What in the world is their purpose if you already have local PD, local sheriffs, and state police already patrolling the area?
I'm not trying to bash y'alls state or anything, just trying to understand why these local marshals exist and why there isn't outcry on their existence.

you pretty much just have to be alive and breathing to be a marshall
they're there to serve papers and/or warrants (occasionally) but in this case nobody seems to be able to find the warrant that they were serving.
i'm just glad they're being made accountable for their actions, like I would have or anyone else would have in the same situation.
Frankly once I heard who was involved it became less shocking. Norris' dad is an ADA in Avoyelles and he's been running around thinking he was above the law for years.

And I'm 100% sure this is a symptom of a massive government bureaucracy vs it being anything unique to LA. You can bet crooked cops are patrolling in every city. I find it ironic that the poor people who love big government so much and continue to vote Democrat don't see how their demographic are ultimately the ones most harmed.

These guys would have a field day with this.
