That is quite the tree to tie on top of the family truckster.

Make sure to get the squirrels out of it first.

Grab a $150-$200 real tree this year and wait to shop for the fake ones early as shite next year?

This. Balsam will do a post season sale. My wife bought one a few years ago in January for like 50% off.

Right after Christmas is the best time to shop for a tree. That’s when you will get the biggest discounts

If you aren't picky about trees. Most of the ones available in stores after Christmas are the low end ones and very few are 9 feet and higher (if that is what you need).

If you are picky about trees, get a real one this year and then get a fake one as soon as they are out in the stores next year which would be early October. In my area, the pickings are already slim. I'm still a purist about waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate for Christmas but I bought our tree from Home Depot weeks ago when I realized they only had two of the one I wanted less than a week they put their trees out.

We like it, it’s full with tons of lights

Same...great tree. Regardless of the tree you get just make sure you shape the limbs. Don't expect it to be perfect out of the box.

What kind of Shepherd is the dog?

I have one too at home. She has a lot more brown hair. Do you cut it back a little? Mine also looks a little shabby in the legs.

There is fur all over the house. Luckily, I decided no carpet after Ida.

She is also very picky when it comes to eating. She only wants to eat when I am home and when she see me cooking she thinks she is getting some too.
Sorry to hijack the thread for dog comments.

My experience with yankees who wander down south is akin to having hemmorhoids, after a while they just become a pain in the arse.

Motherfricker, read the post.

You’re the dummy and misread the post and told us that you bought a nice tree from Balsam instead of weighing in on my overall question.

Glad you like your tree I guess? Which was the point of this thread after all?

After reading these responses I hope whatever tree you buy falls on you.

I love real trees but they've just gotten ridiculous in price, even before this inflation shite...no telling what the prices will be like this season.

Our local guys get trees from NC and always blamed poor harvests on weather up there, driving up the price. Reminds me of the running crawfish price joke on this board....they ALWAYS have a reason to charge top dollar.

There are all kinds and colors of German Shepherds. She was way more black when she was a puppy. No, we do not trim her. She's about 100lbs and super smart. Best swimmer we've had, too. Just a great dog and companion. This pic is more of her true color now...

Younger....

Those balsam trees will be all over the Facebook market place and other groups after Christmas. I'd wait for that if you can.

I've been anti-fake tree for my entire life. Finally made the decision to go fake after last year. The price and hassle no longer outweight the pros. I can't wait to see what real trees cost this year. It's bound to be mindblowing in this economy.

I want to pull the trigger but I’m such a fricking dumb home automation nerd that I need my tree to be controlled by Alexa (on/off, colors, etc) **fricking save it “first world problem” blah blah**
If I spend Balsam prices, that motherfricker better have everything I want. And I don’t want to buy a $6k tree and put $14.99 string LED that use that stupid little shitty remote.

go to Hobby Lobby and use dat 40% off coupon and get you some new ornaments while ya there.
Only ever put up ornaments with a personal story or we made as a kid so now my wife and I are doing the same thing… ie we buy an ornament from wherever we travel whenever we travel. It’s weird looking up “ornaments near me” in Google when it’s March and you’re in Milwaukee.
